Only way we will ever see a good one made again is if Nintendo managed to buy back Rare.

I would love to see Banjo 3. Maybe that's what Rare is working on?

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

If I had to choose one developer, that would be Gory Detail. Chris Seavor still keeps close contact with former Rare employees, some of which I'm sure could be brought over if he ever got the rights to the series.

Why so many seems to think that Nintendo developing Banjo-Kazooie would be a good idea though is beyond me. Nintendo is a Japanese company and Banjo-Kazooie is a British series with a completely different taste in humor. Let Nintendo develop Banjo and you might as well feature an American cast in a sequel to Fawlty Towers. Only way this could work is if Nintendo is the one to bring in the aforementioned ex-Rare employees.

I guess Nintendo but its like... the reason why banjo was great was cause of the original rare developers so since they left, I doubt it would matter and tbh, I doubt a significant number of people even care about the franchise

IMO instead of making Banjo 3 they need to make something new. They need to create a fantasy world with new characters who are on par with banjo / jak and daxter / ratchet and use interesting ideas to keep us engaged. Rare is a former shelf of itself but I think they can still make interesting game if they are given creative control.

But this isn't about what RARE should do. This thread is about what should happen to the Banjo ip because those of us who love that franchise have been waiting so many years (over half my life roughly) for their to be a sequel to Banjo Tooie (one of the best games ever made imo).

I honestly think the franchise would be better suited on a handheld. As harsh as it may sound, I don't think the franchise has enough support (aside from die hard nostalgics) to make a comeback, especially on a console being eclipsed by its main competition.

If, hypothetically, Nintendo were to buy the ip the game itself would only be able to START production after that aquisition. Games take usually 2-3 years or more to make and so, because of that, I think Banjo 3 would be a better launch title for the Thwii than it would be as a swan song game for the Wii U.

I don't think Banjo Threeie for the 3DS would work.. :/

well giving killer instinct to another dev has worked good, don´t see a reason why they shouln´t do that for other rare franchises, with nintendo it would just be a reskinned 3d-mario

Why would Nintendo buying Rare give them some kind of magical touch that makes them make great games?

No, however Nintendo would be able to have their own people go in and help work on the game. Really if Nintendo did buy Rare they would have Rare merge with another development studio to make games.
