The chances of an exclusive winning GOTY are very low. The chances of a "kiddy" game winning are even lower. And the chances of a "kiddy-non Mario" game winning are lower than that.

It's just a puzzle game. Unless your game is Portal, there's really no way it's GOTY material.

And like others have already mentioned, it can't be GOTY in EU anyway

The gaming-media are way too childish to give GOTY to this game, and just think of the backlash from the childish gamers if they did

Game Reviewers wont nominate those (excluding ssb). TLoU like WW HD/LoZ OoT 3D/GTAV/etc are all ports.

Captain Toad will be a phenomenal game. Unfortunately it won't even be a contender for GOTY. Neither will TLoU RE or GTAV. MCC won't get it either.

Realistically you're looking at Destiny, FarCry 4, COD. Maybe another game like Titanfall or something.
