How are they losing money if net assets are near record highs, as are cash balances and they have made a profit every year for 11 years?

thats not what the vote means.

Its a pure greed vote by shareholders.

see my and NikkoM response above.

They have been losing money for years, and a crap ton of it at that. Capcom pumped cash in to 5 cancelled Megaman games (all within the past 14 years), and not just a little bit of money either. They also stayed away from HD development because it's too expensive. Which according to my friend who knows a lot about the Monster Hunter series "MH isn't on sony anymore because capcom didn't want to pay them more money to fix graphics cuz capcom is lazy." Pretty much shows how much Capcom actually cares about it's franchises. Without Microsoft you wouldnt have seen Dead Rising 3, without Nintendo, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate wouldn't make it's trip around the world. Pretty much Capcom is a prostitute, once you give it money, it'll do whatever you want.

... he just told you they made profit every year for 11 years. How does that translate into "they have been losing money for years".

He told me nothing, what he's been saying is not a comparison of what they have and what they had. I said for the past 14 years they have been losing money. You can still lose money and make a profit. Sony has proved this for the past 3 or 4 years.

Yet they have made a profit for every one of the last 10 years and have near record net assets and cash......

Did you miss the bit where I said this?  I'm not making it up or guessing, its from the accounts.

Well I guess you don't do financial fact checking then?

The last time they even made even a record was 2011: http://www.shacknews.com/article/68358/capcom-gets-46-revenue-bump

You said for the last 10 years? 4/5 of those Megaman games drained a lot of cash. Then, this last year: http://gaminrealm.com/2013/09/10/capcom-152-mil-bank/

You are telling me that they have all the money in the world to create more AAA titles than anyone else? Take the blindfold off, they need to make money. They have been losing money, and consistantly been making stupid financial decisions. That cash on hand used to be much greater than it was last year.

They only realized this now?! No wonder they've been having financial trouble.

Uhm no.. thats just impossible... are you confused with revenue? Sony has high revenue but still loses money..

I'm sorry what?

Besides he didn't only tell you that they were posting a profit but also that their net assets and cash situation improved.

As for sony, iirc they only reportet a profit for 1 year during the last 5 or so years and that was the year they sold their buildings. And considering campcoms operating income has been positive for the last 10 years (unlike sony's) they don't need to resort to that.

They talk about worldwide sale or Japan sale only

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Well Sony, MS, or Nintendo could always fund something like Okami, Dragons Dogma, etc....

"a crap ton of it at that" he also said

or not...

http://www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/data/pdf/annual/2014/annual_2014_01.pdf

Page 62 of the PDF is where the financials start.

I know. What do people even look at when they say "X has only Y amount of money in the bank"?

That statement in itself is all kinds of stupid since it says absolutely nothing about the financial situation (well maby liquidity but even then they'd still need to compare it to short term liabilities).

No more DMC games confirmed?
