Forums - Gaming - Xbox One Exclusive Sunset Overdrive is "The Opposite of The Last of Us" says Insomniac

Throughout each teams development careers in recent history (exclusively with Sony), they've made extremely similar games. So, maybe Marcus was just saying "our game isn't going to be similar to theirs, this time". In that regard, I think his comment makes sense.

To be honest, I don't think that was even necessary. Just looking at the two games side by side and they are as similar as Resident Evil and Mario. I think the thread's titles is a little misleading. What he means is that while games like TLOU try to hide the HUD and look less like a game, they want to make a game that "knows" that it's a game. Like a Deadpool thing breaking the fourth wall and that can be interesting in more lighthearted games like Sunset.

I like Insomniac. They have a bad habit of releasing games with some bugs but their creative side is absolutely great. Even on Resistance, they made a very creative FPS that had the best weapon set of any I've played. I really hope they do a Resistance 4 (instead of just another studio doing it).

Even though I know what the guy meant some of the responses in here are pretty fun and seem like jokes to me....don't know why they are being taken seriously.....ahhhh well can't wait for SO to come out it looks like it will be a blast to play!

And lighten up people most of the comments in here are just jokes if you ask me people being silly and having fun with his words nothing wrong with that!

Yay. Bravo. Someone who took the quote and didn't twist. This is exactly what he's saying. Nothing more nothing less.

What was the point of something that? I really don't get it... :/

Yes, that title was terrible. Gamespot just looking for quick clickbaits.

Agreed.  It could have just as easily have been "Sunset Overdrive developer thinks The Last of Us is a great game" or "Sunset Overdrive devs are fans of HUD" but instead, they gave it a title that turns gamer against gamer because of loyalty to some game or brand.  That practice just disgusts me more and more.  And looking at the number of posts in this thread that instantly jump on one side and attack the other without ever reading the OP, it seems like the tactic works.

Game jornalists want to be taken seriously, but they behave like a bunch of spoiled children: inconsistent reviews ("game is fun: 5" or "game is overhyped and has some shortcoming: 9.9"), clickbai titles, console wars BS, twist of anything said in interviews. These guys are just kidding.

Everyday we will see IGN, Gamestop, N4G full of these kind of titles. It's time to stop giving them attention and specially clicks.

ITT we see lots of people fall for click bait article titles.

Jeez didn't realise I'd invoke so many replies. I wasn't saying I agreed with either side, I was justmaking an observation. Of course it was a generalisation as it was a GENERAL observation. Insomniac definitely have things to prove.

So there is actual gameplay. Good
