I'd say it is a mix between KH system and improved and tweaked elements from previous FF titles.

The more I hear about this game, the less I get excited for it.

Nothing was killed. The series evolved over time while you didn't. It's no big deal. You get to replay those older games if you have them.

I don't think that quite fair to say and there a virtually no big budget turn based RPGs on consoles nowadays. Final Fantasy of the old tradition is pretty dead at this moment in time

I get what you mean. You'd rather play the same game with a different coat of paint every 3 years.

I understand that you'd prefer a slower paced turn based battle system. That was achieved in the older games. The series might go back to that kind of system one day, but for now, they're trying real time. The battle system is only one aspect of the Final Fantasy games. So to say that Final Fantasy is dead just because the new game uses a different battle system is a little silly. The rest of the game might end up being very much like the FF game you remember.

Good, then when you finally get to play it you wont be crazy stupid overhyped that nothing could possibly live up to your hype and you will actually enjoy it =P

If we were talking about an evolution you sentence would have some validility, but we're talking a huge change in the composition of gameplay almost a genre shift. Its completely understandable that some people may dislike that. Regarding your last comment every single mainline Final Fantasy up until this has been turn based so it would actually be safe to say Final Fantasy is (or at least was) about that.

If you're keen the new direction thats fine, but don't try and make other people sound like trolls when they're being quite reasonable.

Good grief, when they said one button, they didn't just mean you do things with one button, they literally meant one button press! Seriously? Hold the button to attack? You don't even have to press it multiple times for a combo, you just hold it and he does his thing? This battle system sounds like it's going to make Kingdom Hearts look complicated. Sigh, I just hope the story is good this time.

Tapping a button is not more complicated then holding it. In either case you have the same control (whether to continue or stop) :)
