And what's Sony's identity? Destiny? They pushed that harder than any of their own games.

Also, MS has the more noteworthy IPs. Such as Minecraft!

Lol, it's funny how you just proved his point with that last part.

And for your post above, it wasn't impossible until we got the results to prove it was impossible.  Before that, many thought those deals would help it.  Also, Sony making fewer games?  I'm guessing you have't looked at their line up for the next year or two.

LOL I know right? I don't even know why he argues about Sony when they dont do business the same internally.

Yeah...Microsofts most notable IP's have been purchased.

Some were, some weren't. The average consumer doesn't identify MS by whether or not they created popular IPs. That's just a concern to people like you.

Also, you don't give credit to MS for keeping those IPs great.

It was a joke.

Sony and MS do business very similarly. In fact, Sony has become a lot like MS in recent years. Charging for online play, showing multiplats at E3, and even buying exclusive advertising! Its almost like Sony admires MS.

Because they cannot create them. Retaining things they buy wont help them further themselves, but keep at the same pace in which they've always been. Think of it as making gains on a treadmill rather than running outside in the great expanse.

Sony wants to make money despite being more of a risk taker than MS. Microsoft has shown them alternative routes to make it. Depressing isn't it?

But MS has the bigger more notable catalogue. So they must have made some gains.

For example, buying Halo helped they move forward. We'll have to wait and see the benefits of purchasing Gears and Minecraft. This is why your analogy fails.

Idk something tells me they think it's worth it. Someone should email Phil Spencer a link to these Amazon whatever lists.

My analogy doesnt fail because Microsoft needs to purchase to move forward. Once more think of this philosophically....

The businessman will always need a product to sell but the artist will always be able to create.

This is where Nintendo and Sony have MS beat for days.

Of course those "creations" from Sony are from artists Sony also bought just like MS buys but lets ignore that.

IIRC Naughty Dog is made entirely of people born into Sony.

And artists often need a business to fund their creation, which is why a lot of artists go to companies like MS and Sony.

People downplay MS for not creating some of their popular IPs. But give them no credit for keeping their IPs relevant. Something Sony has often struggled to do with their IPs.

For example, if Killzone was in the hands of 343 Studios if might have turned into something good! It doesn't matter if 343 created the IP. Its take talented people to keep the IP good, people more talented than Guerilla Games.
