Forums - Sony - Hajime Tabata wants to make Final Fantasy XV "more casual, one button action"

we should get a twitter campaign ready just in case the demo disappoints.

I was thinking about that too. There should be a strong and clear feedback. If they ruin this game, I won't just stand there doing nothing. I've been waiting for it since forever.

I  really have been thinking about this. At some point I wanted to make or set up a site. Think of it as a QA site for games still in development or honest publisher free user reviews. So for a game like this we could get the feedback from all the gamers that play it and are signed into the site and have a comprehensive list of complaints, likes and suggestions that we can send back to the developers of the game. And not just for FF but every game that releases a demo or beta. It would also be a really good way for gamers to see exactly whats wrong with a game and what a game has got going for it.

The real idea will be to have millions of fans for any given franchise be able to speak with one voice about what they want or don't want. I doubt any developer can ignore data that shows millions of people upvoting or down voting certain features. It shoul also be a place that developers can come in and directly address or answr the questions gamers are asking. The sit will be excluisvly ad supported, but no game related ads. that we we can never get moneyhatted lol.

well, it's fine as long as they give us a choice...

Well, every Final Fantasy has only one action button. Final Fantasy is not like Tales of. But what worries me is that he is saying the game will play itself. I think game over will only appear if the player doesn't has the set of abilities, weapons to oppose a specific enemy.

Yes every final fantasy is a one button game. But thats only cause you use one button to choose everything. its the "everything" part and how or when they are chosen that makes a FF game.

I don't understand the critcism. Every mainline FF was a one button game. Except FF12 which was a zero button game that played itself using the analog stick. But suddenly it's a bad thing.

I don't think it's the 1 button thing, we all know how FF plays, it's the terms like 'casual' or 'instant gratificiation'. Previous FF games have been about patience. You have options, select your attack and await your turn. See a Bomb, don't use fire and you've only got 3 hits so use your most powerful ice attack before it explodes. Your choice. This however: "It'll basically be a one-button action, and the AI intuitively outputs an action that kind of satisfies" seems to me we will jsut be press X to attack and the character does an ice attack without my say so.

Oh and I never played FF12 with gambits much, the basic few but I controlled all of my characters in battle pretty much.

And there we would be at the bottom of the problem. FF should never be an action JRPG.

Please square, if you're making a game about a road trip with men, make it for men, not casual grandma.

Gimme a break! I want 3 or 4 buttons action combos!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a game about 4 gay men on a road trip a lot more suited to a female audience rather than the average straight male gamer?

I have a horrible feeling that the whole 'one button' thing is in part a compromise for the people who want to play it by streaming on a tablet.

The jury is out on that one...

Honestly, though, despite what the fanfiction will surely make you think, this looks like a pretty manly game, at least as far as the setting is concerned.

Please no. XIII-2 was already piss-easy.
