Forums - Sony - Hajime Tabata wants to make Final Fantasy XV "more casual, one button action"

I don't understand the critcism. Every mainline FF was a one button game. Except FF12 which was a zero button game that played itself using the analog stick. But suddenly it's a bad thing.

I don't think it's the 1 button thing, we all know how FF plays, it's the terms like 'casual' or 'instant gratificiation'. Previous FF games have been about patience. You have options, select your attack and await your turn. See a Bomb, don't use fire and you've only got 3 hits so use your most powerful ice attack before it explodes. Your choice. This however: "It'll basically be a one-button action, and the AI intuitively outputs an action that kind of satisfies" seems to me we will jsut be press X to attack and the character does an ice attack without my say so.

Oh and I never played FF12 with gambits much, the basic few but I controlled all of my characters in battle pretty much.

Really?? I loved the gambit system. It was the perfect way to have amazing AI that I wanted whilst I controlled my character. Almost like playing with 2 other humans whom you were chatting with like an mmo.

Yeah, I prefered to control most of their main decisions, basic attacks, healing when below 30% and couple of others, Gambit system was good just when I play it I like to controlled them.

Hmm, pie.

Final Fantasy XV: Old Man's Edition

Such stupid idéal, they had thé potential to make the best Jrpg of thé year, best FF but they décide to ruin the gameplay , that suckq

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

I am gonna give them the benefit of the doubt... but I think we should get a twitter campaign ready just in case the demo disappoints. Cause I am beginning to feel that some of these devs are so outta touch with what gamers actually want from a game. Even when the gamers tell them.

This is the first FF game I am actually looking forward to since FF12.

THEY BETTER NOT FUCK THIS UP.

Well gamers are getting older and games are getting much, much easier =P

Isn't every final fantasy game a one button game? Geez

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

I was thinking about that too. There should be a strong and clear feedback. If they ruin this game, I won't just stand there doing nothing. I've been waiting for it since forever.

Well, every Final Fantasy has only one action button. Final Fantasy is not like Tales of. But what worries me is that he is saying the game will play itself. I think game over will only appear if the player doesn't has the set of abilities, weapons to oppose a specific enemy.

GG Final Fantasy XV.
