Forums - Sony - Hajime Tabata wants to make Final Fantasy XV "more casual, one button action"

Hum... I wonder how many "FINAL FANTASY IS DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAD FUCK YOU TABATA" comments there were on this thread.

FF has always been about one button... Kingdom Hearts is ALSO about just one button... Every rpg in the history of ever is "one button"... Instead of going into extremes "THIS GAME ALREADY SUCKS", why not a middle-term "hum, we'll see how this turns out"?

I dont think anybody expected an RPG to have lots of buttons really. I dont recall any FF games having any complex controls. Just give us a good story and battle/level up system and im happy =)

Also, guys, I can understand the fear because he used the forbidden word "casual".
But has everybody suddenly forgot everything else Tabata has said about the combat? He said a lot of interesting stuff already, let's not fixate on this "casual" thing.

1 button?

Get this man as far as possible from this game.

my fear is they making it very automatic, i dont want a game that plays by itself :S

that is why i love old school final fantasy combat, you have to make every decision , you control every character and everything

He's saying that the moves will be performed in a very simple way. But maybe you have to decide the better angle of attack (I think he already said that), your location on the battlefield, which spells to use, how to better use your companions, quickly react to an incoming attack... there are A LOT of variables, specially on an rpg with a real-time combat system. I remember one the things Tabata said is how well the game "flows", and you have to consider the "environment" or the weather. The genre is not about the intricate combo systems, but rather about the strategy/planning/decision-making. Every rpg has "one-button" systems really.

I'm REALLY curious about this game's battle system. The demo cannot come soon enough.

So I have to expect Resident Evil 6 identity issues in FF, more. Great...

Oh God no!!!

KH and FF are already one button games!!!! What is everybody bitching about?

SE is just a insta whine button for everybody.

Why? Why does he want to ruin Final Fantasy?

If they want to do a different kind of game that is simpler, fine. But it should be done as a spinoff, while the main series game should still release (in a timely fashion) and be what the core fans of the franchise want!

You do realize the old final fantasy games didn't involve a bunch of button pressing.

So they can port it to phones, of course.
