Good, my golden retriever wants to get into gaming. This game seems like a great first introduction!

I beat Final Fantasy 3 pressing only seven buttons; four where from the direction pad. I don't really see the problem here.

OT: Great news.

I'm worried the items/upgrade aspect is gonna go bye bye.

If done properly, there's no problem either.

Where in the interview did you get that from?

I just don't want it to turn out like RE6. Missing the core aspect of the franchise.

Any time I see a form of dumbing down. I expect the worst.

This isn't about buttons, this thread has spread so far that people are ignoring the main interview where he said "make it more casual", "gives you that instant gratification" and "It'll basically be a one-button action, and the AI intuitively outputs an action that kind of satisfies".
I used an example earlier that in previous FF games you fought a Bomb, you knew to use Ice, not fire, you went into the ATB menu selected the right spell and as long as you did it 3 times before it exploded, you won. This sounds like you just run up to it, click to attack and it attacks with ice for you. EDIT: Okay so I doubt it will be that extreme as even in KH, you had to select spells to cast, just running around clicking X didn't win you all fights.
Infact the more I think of this the more it seems like KH, and while that may be great as it was supposed to be, the director could at least be more precise.
Hmm, pie.

I'm REALLY curious about this game's battle system. The demo cannot come soon enough. |
All the good aspects of the battle system seem to be related to what Nomura have planned. Every thing related to Tabata sounds like a downgrade. What is the reason for auto-selection of weapons, why can't the player choose which weapon to use? It that too "harcore" or something? Why is the auto-dodging better than the player actual and direct reaction ?
Everything else sounds GREAT, but why sacrifice even more great aspects? Because the man is "not getting any younger"?

But Resident Evil 6 is awesome. As long as the game is awesome, what's the problem?
