if 10% of the people that bought the TR reboot buy an X1 for this one then I'd say the deal was pretty effective.

But the 10% either already have Xb one, or are already committed to buy Xb one. So it doesn't represent actual console sales directly attributable to TR timed exclusivity.

Seems to me knowing it's timed means people will mostly be willing to wait until it comes to their preferred platform.

Yeah, plus if it's going to come out head-to-head with Uncharted 4 I don't think it will have the system selling effect they desire.  Fans of the genre are going to be thinking "Do I buy an XB1 to play ROTR now, or do I buy a PS4 to play Uncharted 4 now and ROTR a bit later?"

My 8th gen collection

I will happily buy it on PS4.

Exactly. But isn't that actually the entire reason behind the exclusivity PR fiasco? Microsoft taking the game away from the majority of its fan base?

I'll play it on PC when it comes. Not buying into MSFTs buyout of the "timed exclusive."

Thats just the thing. The majority of the Tomb Raider community arent on the Xbox. Its also not a system seller. The franchises reboot is all thanks to Uncharted which itself is a system seller.

LMAO! Pretty much this. 14 months is a long time. We'll see how things are looking next year. The mind may be willing, but the flesh is weak.

Maybe Tomb Raider could be a system seller if MS includes it with the X1 consoles free. They have been doing a lot of that to stimulate sales.

Much of Uncharted's sales are from bundle copies. I'm not sure how much of a system seller it is.

I think its pretty clear that money, and not fan satisfaction, was the motivator of this deal. It just a bad move period and I am not sure how they were surprised that they got the reactions they did. What I do think hurt them the most was the brash dishonesty about the exclusivity. A simple "first on Xbox" would have sufficed. Saying that the game will achieve its maximum potential through a deal with Xbox is utter garbage. The game is also on Xbox 360 so their if their dream can be achieved on the 360, surely it could have been done on PC and PS4. Ultimately the biggest issue is their communication. "Did we consider our PC and PS4 fans when when made this deal? Yes. They can buy the temple of Osiris." Why are companies so bad at PR? No one is forcing them to give these crazy responses.

Atleast try to back up ur nonsensical post. Uncharted 2/3 were bundled for around 2-3 months during the holidays which means that out of their 7 million avg per game they sold at most a million each game with bundles. And with ps4 hype and e3 uncharted 4 hype it's bound to sell a shitload of ps4's wouldn't be surprised if uc4 beats halo 5.
