Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham has a season pass - a first for a Lego video game.

The season pass includes six DLC packs, each with a mission level that includes a story and free play mode, as well as over 40 characters, and vehicles.

The first three DLC packs are available on 14th November - the day the game launches. So really they're day one DLC.

The season pass is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC for £12.79. Each pack is £2.55 when bought separately.

Here's what you get in the season pass, in Warner's words:

The Dark Knight Pack (available 14/11/14)

Experience the heart-pounding chase scene from the iconic film complete with cool vehicles and explosive action. Play as the legendary Dark Knight and Commissioner Gordon, as well as the Joker and his goons as they chase down Harvey Dent's police escort. Bane and Catwoman from the third film are also playable.

Man of Steel Pack (available 14/11/14)

Help Jor-El, his wife Lara and their robot Kelex send the infant Superman "Kal-el" into space towards the safety of Earth as Krypton falls into chaos. Find a way inside Jor-El's home, fight General Zod's invading forces and battle against Zod himself to save Superman.

Batman 75th Pack (available 14/11/14)

Play as Joker and Harley, setting up a variety of celebration set pieces. Be the Batman and play as some of the most iconic faces of Batman through the years, including his first appearance in Detective Comics #27.

Access to Future DLC Content

Gain access to three additional game packs, featuring new playable characters, vehicles and levels. Details about the additional content will be revealed at a later date.

The season pass is not available for the PS Vita, Wii U and 3DS versions.

Seems odd. The Lego games actually sell pretty well on the Wii U. The Lego Movie videogame actually sold the best on Wii U. Other games like Lego the Hobbit and Lego Marvel sold well too.

I'm starting to wonder if 3rd parties don't like Nintendo's revenue sharing policies on DLC

Everything I've heard indicates that it is pretty standard, and indies don't seem to have any problem with it...

Additionally, this is almost all day 1 DLC which is a topic deserving of heavy criticism.

Not sure about this news, first the release date of the DLC screams of cutting stuff to offer it for more money, second I don't like that they have 6 packages planned but they offer details only for 3. On the other hand the lack of Wii U option is depressing as those games sell very good numbers on Nintendo consoles, and the price is decent/good for the content offered.

I think I will buy the game for my Wii U and not worry about something I cannot get.

No season pass for WiiU. That doesn't necessarily mean no DLC for WiiU.

lol day 1 serious? Just chuck i on the disc geez. Or pretend like it don't exist yet for few months.
