Even Lego has now been tainted by day one DLC.

^^ This exactly.
Given TT's obligation to support the Gamepad for split-screen co-op play, I'd imagine it takes some extra effort to get the WiiU version out the door. (Unless that's already confirmed supported with remote play on Vita)
They probably want to avoid the whole fiasco they had with the Arkham Origins season pass on Wii U.
Personally, I see every reason for Lego Batman 3 to sell really well on Wii U -- but I can understand how the "suits" wouldn't see it that way judging by how poorly other Batman-related games have sold on the platform. Hence, more caution with offering season pass.
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
If I wasn't getting this already, I wouldn't get this because of the amount of day one dlc.

The HD space issue, you need to get a extra HD disc

No that's not the issue. It doesn't cost anymore to upgrade HD space as it does most any other platform. Also, since WiiU doesn't require an installation for a game like X1 or PS4 does, that 32GB goes a lot further than you might think (8GB Wii U is all but phased out entirely).

Title is misleading. There's no season pass / day 1 dlc for Wii U other platform, but that doesn't mean no DLC period for Wii U or any other platform.

But most people don't spend money to upgrade HD.. 32GB is also not that much when map pack already take 1-2 GB and considering games like COD has 4-5 map packs that goes up full...And then we are not even speaking about the fact that COD has one of the lowest download sizes for its dlc..
