Will hv to buy retail i guess, no space for a hard drive. Seriously 32 Gb sigh...

they are very liberal with harddrive support so thats not such a big problem.

i use a tiny 64gb usb flashdrive, it works perfect, and its allmost invisible.

I thought you had to use a harddrive with its own on/off switch and tunr it on before you boot the system ... did they change that?  Doesn't really matter as I have half a dozen external drives laying around the shop but plan on buying this one retail anyway.

So Bayo 2 is lower than Bayo 1 in space?
If the OP is right Bayo 1 have 17.6GB
So 3 GB more even being a gen older.

And man, they should really avoid making this consoles versions with low HD, what a nuisance.

Nope I'm sure it was less then 8GB on the 360.

Seems a bit silly that we're at the point where you can't even install games on the largest HDD size. They've gotta release a bigger system you'd think, wouldn't you?

This is another disadvantage the WiiU has, especially if you happened to be interested in digital purchases. You need an external storage to go along with it, which means at least another 50 dollars/euro one has to invest in the system. They need to make the system cheaper, but even better would be to have a version with enough space on it.

With mandatory installs on the other two current gen systems this issue isn't limited to just the Wii U.  Anyone with a serious digital library is going to need additional storage on any of the three systems.  At least they don't pull an xbox 360 and charge $120 for a 320 gig drive. Even sony made it easy, as long as your drive was the right dimensions you could use about any drive.

The OP says:
Both (1+2)= 32.2 GB
2 = 14.6 GB
So it's 32.2 - 14.6 = 1
1 = 17.6 GB

The 360 versions always were more compressed.

Well if you buy the digital version on PSN its only 7.1 GB.

And that is why digital sacks SACKS

Doesn't suck for me with my 2 TB HDD.

lol i said sack not suck

plus i bought a white wii u and the only extra memory if have is a sd card in the usb slot

also i do not want to pay extra money just so i can download a game when i go and buy the disk

You'd really only be paying extra money for the convenience of:

1) Not having to re-insert and eject your game discs every time you want to play a game
2) Not needing to worry about scratching your discs
3) Not worrying about anyone stealing your games
4) Enjoying slightly faster load times
5) Saving space around your game system, thus lowering clutter
6) Buying games at midnight in your underwear
7) Not needing to pay taxes on your games (wink)
8) Not needing to present ID when buying an M rated game
9) Not having to worry about losing your games due to theft or destruction
10) The ability to backup your games on any medium the Wii U can read.

One problem though

you hard drive breaks...

BYE BYE GAMES AND SAVE DATA

The games themselves will really be safer digital, because you can always re-download them with your NNID, anytime.

And your save data is actually stored inside the Wii U's internal memory, separate from the actual game data - which would be on your external HDD iirc - so that's also not a problem. It's win-win.

Bayonetta 1 and Bayonetta 2 are rather large games, as some may have expected.

Bayonetta 2 requires 14.6GB if you plan on picking up the digital version. And together, Bayonetta 1 and Bayonetta 2 take up 32.2GB of space.

Get your hard drives ready!

This is unless you have extra hardrive for storage :P

Guess it's good that you have the option of NOT installing the game. Just put in the disc and play. Other option for the likes of me, get an external HD and then have crazy amounts of storage for the download. 2TB. Not bad for $100.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

Probably due to newer compression technologies.

IMHO i think the WiiU's disc space is perfectly chosen, because you can just buy what you need. Some people don't like to buy download games at all, then just pay for the white basic version. Some people want all the big games on disc and only occasionally buy some indie games on the eshop, then get the 32Gb version. And for people who like to buy games as DL, just get a cheap ext. HDD in whatever size is appropriate for you.

I think that's better than having to buy a 500Gb HDD packed into your console which is either wasted because you're not using it at all or after some years may even be too small.

and 500gb hdds cost 25 not 50...

So people will just buy the disc. Problem solved.
