they are very liberal with harddrive support so thats not such a big problem.

I thought you had to use a harddrive with its own on/off switch and tunr it on before you boot the system ... did they change that?  Doesn't really matter as I have half a dozen external drives laying around the shop but plan on buying this one retail anyway.
