For the hardcore Nintendo fans? I think she is. Im still amazed to this day when SSBM was introduced and when Samus came up the cheers were so damn loud!!! (this is even before Metroid Prime was a thing).

She's fairly popular, especially for a character who's games dont sell high at all.

Every mainline game sans the one we will never mention and that never existed has been >=89 which was Zero Mission. So her games have pretty much always been pure quality.
