Going to agree with this.
It was kind of a novel concept with the original Infamous (famous or infamous), but it soon became a practice of finishing the game twice to see all the content and experience the story through the eyes of a villain or a hero.
Interestingly enough, First Light has the first absence of the "morality meter" and frankly, nothing is lost to me in playing through the story without having to worry about avoiding collateral damage to maintain "good" status, or having to cause unnecessary damage to random objects and people to maintain "evil" status.
You really can't play any of the retail Infamous games in the grey because it effectively locks the player out of being able to develop their powers completely.
But with First Light, you are essentially locked into the pre-told story (as a prequel) of a character whose status we know about from playing Second Son and is neither a hero or a villain. Having no morality meter was liberating when playing as a normal individual who, like most people, lives within the grey area even though the game still makes a point of letting you know if you failed to save an innocent victim when it was part of a mission or task objective.
I would like to see other (new) characters in future Infamous games as the concept seems to be less about one individual character, but rather how the instance of super powers would effect the life decisions of individuals who suddenly find themselves with such abilities.
As much as I liked Delsin, and wouldn't mind playing another game as him, playing through First Light made me realize it wasn't the characters alone that made me enjoy the Infamous series, which is something that should have hit me as I was playing Second Son. I was surprised the decision was made to kill Cole in Infamous 2 as I had grown to like the character after two games, but the "reboot" worked for me well enough that Second Son became my favorite of the franchise.

I think a sequal would be risky and i would prefer they put their talent at work on something new. Or you know, CoD sequals and all that...because. |
Sadly I have to agree. As much as I enjoyed infamous it just doesnt seem to have pulling power and I feel it will eventually go the way of Resistance.

I wouldn't mind another. I didn't think the game was anything great, but it was pretty decent. Better than what I thought of the previous entries in the series anyways

I'd say a sequel is probably, but not guaranteed.

This. Wouldn't mind wait till near the end of this gen for another. Let them try something new.

For it to go the way of Resistance, it would have to deviate away from a winning formula (as in, what the fans want). Second Son didn't do that, and no matter how we spin sales, the game was a success both commercially and critically. Thus, a sequel is, no doubt, in order. |
How do you know? Did Sony say something? There were layoff's at sucker punch so i would assume quite the contrary, that the game failed to meet expectations.

I'd totally buy a platformer from these guys
Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.

Layoffs at Sucker Punch mean zilch without context. Do you know the amount of workers laid off? What if it was 2-5? They're a big company. We have no indication that the game didn't meet expectations, thus expecting a "Resistance-esque" future for the franchise makes no sense at all. |
I assume you dont have a reason to say it did well for them then? It was an actual question.
Layoff's and sales numbers are the only info i have.
