The numbers are 10m as of august whatever, get over it, it will get adjusted sooner or later. So arguing against is totally fucking pointless.

Regarding Sony to be believed... he them gone and clarified that he don't trust Sony or any other corporate if he can't back that up with third party data... Strange is that he put an extra Million in USA for X360 making it 1M overtracked, and MS just gave shipped numbers not sold through

MS just sold 5 million in China. VGchartz will have Xbox One at 10 million before Xbox One, lol.

Ioi is looking for Sony to provide a breakdown so he an compare his data and correct... Right now he believes to be within 100k+- right on 9,4 (with USA+Rest of America about 100k overtracked and europe 100k undertracked, japan spot on... and that he have a bigger percentage throw at Rest of the World but think it shouldn't be higher at the moment)...

So basically as he does with NPD, GFK and Famitsu+MC he will wait for the right numbers to align and correct his algorithm, no rush.

Well then lets hope Sony delivers, I just skipped through the thread a little and Sony is apparently vgchartz pro customer, so I'd assume that it's in Sonys interest to provide vgchartz with the numbers.

I would really like further detail about the whole 1M thing. People keep mentioning it, but I don't know the whole backstory behind it. Has ioi ever clarified on it (I know he didn't in this thread)?

They didn't sell it to china. China gave permission for 5 million to be purchased in china. They have not been baught yet.

Oh, in the realm of things, there is probably a 95+% chance that Sony is correct, yea, because lying would likely just hurt them. But the truth is, some companies do lie (despite it eventually hurting them), so I'm not just going to believe it as if it is from the gospel. I'll be cautious about the number provided.

So if you think the likelyhood of them being right is 95% (and ok all cautioness is good) them you basically agree with Sony but don't want to admit because there is a flee chance of it being a lie... the point wasn't even if Sony is 100% right in the beggining, but if Sony is 95% right of it being over 10M and VGC is 5% right of it being 9.4M the true number is closer to 10M (because over 10M could be 10M+1 or 10M+200k) like 9.95M... So if VGC corrected their numbers to something more closer to what has the better chance to be right we would have lot less complains...

And Ioi already agreed on this, he will just take his time to make it the right way, and agree with he on that.

They probably will work out, just not sure if in Sony interest because if they have the right number, giving it to VG would just allow they to inform to the other companies.
