Well the PS4 is selling very well worldwide, sure the months' NPD numbers aren't mindblowing but considering that the PS4 is seemingly selling on average over 100k units outside the US every week, I'd say everything's fine.

PS4: 3.87mil  > Over by 110k

X1: 3.20mil    > Over by 150k

I got get it for PS4. 10mil sold yet vgc are off by 600k-700k+ while ps4 is overtracked in theUS? Europe undertracked by a good 500k+ then? O.o

Eh, I'd say there really are very minimal consequences for being caught "decieving" the public when it comes to number estimates of sell through to customers vs. shipped. Maybe amongst the small group of us that actually care about sell through numbers. Shipping to stores is what actually brings Sony revenue, not selling to consumers, so it's kind of up to them what they want to estimate.

I'm not saying I think Sony's lying. They are certainly currently the most reliable source for numbers. But I can't think of a reason they would EVER round down.

Have you heard about the folly behind some of FIFA's claims of massive viewership for the world cup in the last couple decades? Sometimes their "official" estimates are blown up to triple what independent trackers find.  They admitted to massive exaggeration in some cases. (this lie is easier to maintain than sales #s because viewership doesn't translate directly into revenue)

Guys, it's under tracked by like 45k in Germany alone, we know this from GFK. Just knowing that, 250k in Europe alone is not a stretch. PS consoles have always sold better in Europe than in the US, but according to VGC not so with PS4. Also, it wasn't widely available until around WD week, so sales probably went up and have remained there for a while.

Add the rest of the world and you can get 500k.

Anyway, yes i do believe it's EU. You guys underestimate EU's love of PS. It even happened last gen despite all the struggling and high price point, i don't think you realize how big PS4 will be will less struggling and a lower price point. PS3 did Wii numbers despite those things, PS4 will do well above Wii numbers.

Semi-on-topic, yesterday i went to a supermarket that had a hardware-service little shop in the market. It advertised things like PC, tablets, phones etc (service/repair) and then.. Playstation. Nope, not consoles, gaming devices, etc. Just "Playstation". That's what EU gaming is. (for the most part)
