Veteran or not, the man did horrible job at representing the xbox brand and MS (on the year of the reveal, not sure about before then) with some of the stupid shit he pulled out, most noticeably, the buy a 360 crap.

One bad day, putting his head on the line saying things the company agreed on forfeits his entire history in the industry?

Mattrick was just a scapegoat, he was representing the beliefs of the Xbox brand at the time, but people seem to think his dismisal meant Xbox is going in a new direction.

It was Xbox who said "Don't have internet, buy a 360." Mattrick was just the messenger.

They knew he was going to Zynga so he was the scapegoat. You still have the friggen ceo flat out saying its non essential, any one with any knownledge of how PR works knows thats the equivalent of saying its not important to us/ we don't care about it.

Nobody put a gun to his head. If he is a veteran, with any sense of intelligence and experience, he should have known how pissy we gamers are and even thinking about saying something like that should have been a red flag.

He represents a company and brand, sure, but he is his own damn man. Have some balls and admit to mistakes or answers questions outside of the script. Also, the original Xbox One policies and stuff was awful and he had no problem just spewing all that crooked philosophy of how this is the evolution of gaming, blah blah blah. Right there, I knew, he did not have the best intentions for gamers (aside from the supposed family sharing feature)

I don't respect puppets and apparently, that's what you consider him to be.

And as a gamer, you don't understand how companies especially American companies work, when he was working for Microsoft, he was not Don Mattrick, he was Microsoft Xbox. Nobody, not even the Head of the Division can simply make up what he wants and decide for the company that is bullshit.

Everything he said was planned out and agreed upon, If Mattrick publically disagreed with it, he'd be in a shit load of trouble right now, Microsoft would be suing him even if they made the Xbox 180. If you take your eyes off of Microsoft's Scapegoat for a second though, you notice, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE MICROSOFT EXECS where saying the exact same thing at the time, Hell look at last years E3

If their making PR, they are all puppets more or less, putting their own personality on the message that the company says, only with social media do u get a glimpse at their true thoughts and even that is controled most of the times.

He was a known big champion of the kinect, I have no pity for him.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Yeah, came in here to say this.  Big corporations have an iron fist on what can/should/will be said, and you can't just go off the rails.  The companies Ive worked for are pretty small compared to Microsoft, but even we have to pass every single thing we say through PR/legal departments to make sure everything is good to go

He is technically correct.I mean if you can't connect to the internet then I am sure you can't afford an Xbox one, infact I highly doubt one could even afford a xbox 360.

Yet somehow with no internet in my home I managed to afford a PS4 just fine.

On Matrick I never hated him, I just did not want to do business with him given his mentality. Honestly it was Hyrb (sp?) that really rubbed me the wrong way being very rude and condescending last year.

For a 50 year old he actually looks pretty good.

Then again Old Snake is a Sexy Man.

I don't mind him. He had a futuristic vision that unfortunately for him the world wasn't quite ready for. I don't quite respect him per se, but I understand his logic and point-of-view.

Your translation is terrible. It means nothing of the sort. Come on man. They're not investing billions just because it isn't important. You know better than that.

That's the nature of PR, its for investors, and regardless of what they{Microsoft/Xbox Division or w.e its called} actually think, investors don't want Xbox to be a focus of Microsoft. It wasn't meant for the media for the very reason that it would be translated that way. PR is not like normal talk, what you say is what you mean, and every single letter of what you say will be analyzed.

Even if Satela Omitted Xbox from his speech in PR, it would've been considered disassociation by omission, but even that would be better then saying its not core. Granted a news week especially on the internet is typically not long. But it is surely not helping, and its definetly not positive.
