Forums - Gaming - A cut to 299 might not help X1 much

lol at this guys saying that the SKU kinectless wasnt a price cut-.- so if the console released at $499 and now costs $399 it already received its price cut.. you just cant deny it, but instead you guys do..
even if it's not the same SKU even if it had 250gb instead it would be a price cut from the original price..

The system that released at $499 is still $499 so thats not price cut.

No and not needed at the moment either since the X1 is still doing pretty good in North America which is and always will be its strongest market.

Pretty good - having been out sold each month this year half of them doubled in its own home "strongest market".

Intersting what peole call well or pretty good.

Its doing pretty good considering it still has to release its major release of the the year the MCC.  Plus there will be tons of holiday bundles that will give it a major boost.  MS major strategy as far as boosting its sales have always been bundles not price cuts its been forever since the 360 had a price cut and it already could have used a couple since besides Horizon 2 there is nothing else in the pipeline when it comes to 360 first party exclusives.

No actually its doing pretty awful considering It dropped with higher profile games, it had ample stock when PS4 was nowhere to be found.  It had bigger releases bigger promotins and already had a cut/cheaper sku.  And its still getting out sold, by double half the time in its home strongest marlet.

The endless wait for this wait for that is stale and old, does one one have to bring up the chalk board ?  MS strategy worked very well with 360 cause it was much cheaper and dommianant in NA, X1 clealry is not either of those.

Truth if you are hopeing there will be tons of bundles and really really hoping they give it a major boost.  But looking at facts aka TF bundle, that still got out sold by PS4 things are not looking very hopeful for that scenerio.

Despite all that has been said, i think this is not likely to happen.

You see, SONY is a electronic/hardware company before anything. It has more know-how, bargaining power and more network on how to get the console parts. It is very unlikely that MS can cut their price too much time before SONY, unless they accept selling at loss.

Even with all that know how, somehow their TVs and other electronic devices are significantly more expensive than the competition...

Well, they have more know-how than MS, not Samsung.

Isn't LG also cheaper and when it comes to electronics besides consoles I would buy LG and Samsung over anything made by Sony.

I'm not hoping for tons of bundles since I already have a X1 only thing I'm waiting for is more info on Horizon 2 and the demo of the game to be released.

Great for you but that wont help sales will it, not much will so why are you arguning for it then and running away with well "i this i that" ?

The bundles will help sales they always have helped anyway the X1 in nowhere as doomed as you think it is.

Potential bundles and promotions wont help anywher near as much as you think, TF march and 399 sku already are living proof of that.  You got hopes i got market examples.

doomed articles and threads are just clickbaits nothing more.. this gen ps4 is outperforming the competition, but that doesn't mean that microsoft and nintendo will give up their support, that would be bad for the industry, bad for the companies, bad for gamers, and bad for us consumers, if the consoles are selling, they are all making money, if they are making  money they will keep supporting their systems... just that

edit: hell, if sony had listen the doom articles in 2007, ps3 wouldn't have last 2 years.. but even sony losing money they kept supporting it and in the end it became profitable.
