Whether you can tell the difference between 50-100% more power (depending on who you ask) is on you. The ps4 does have better multiplats. Where the true power shines is how much better the exclusives looks though.

Wow, did you just really say you can tell the difference between 50-100% more power?  Was this about console exclusives?

It's not the power, its the software.  THe software has to make use of the power.  Even then, my argument has never been that I or anyone else can't see the difference.  The difference is well documented in technical terms.  I challenge you to see the differnece while actually playing a game.

In response to your first question... no. I'm saying that the ps4 is 50-100% more powerful.  And about the exclusives, yes, they look far better than xbox exclusives. And yes, if someone changes that settings on a game I'm playing on my PC, I very quickly notice the difference.

Like I said, no one(or not anyone sane) is arguing that the XB1 is equal to or more powerful thatn the PS4 anymore.  The debate seems to be more in line with what the real differences are when actually playing a game.   Most multiplats at this point have very similar resolutions - 900p upscaled to 1080p/1080p vs 1080p.  The frame rates seem to vary a bit.  But, an upscaled 900p image while actually playing a game on a large screen tv and a 1080p image on the same screen while actually playing a game would be imperceptible.  I am not saying there isn't a difference.  I am saying that if you are actuallly playing a game, you can't possibly be looking at the graphical differences and still interact with the game(unless your hiding behind a bush or rock).  Sure, when you watch a gameplay viseo on line that compares the 2 you can study the differences because you are not interacting in the game.  A comparison to a PC that is more likely on a small 27" monitior or small doesn't really work, as you would have to stop gameplay to change the settings.

First off, I know no one (except a few morons) is still trying to argue that the xbox one. And not once have I stated that this was your argument. I was saying that the power difference is quite perceivable. I don't know why people need to keep saying that it's 900p upscaled to 1080p, it really doesn't look any better than straight up 900p. I have a 4k monitor, so I'm technically playing my ps4 in 1080p upscaled to 4k. It doesn't really look different though. And 900p vs 1080p is a very noticable difference. Once again, I've come to my games before and noticed that the resolution was different. I was right. I don't get why it's so hard to understand this fact that I've previously stated. 900p and 1080p isn't MASSIVE, but 1080p is definitely a lot better.

Oh trust me, sub 1080p on a 1080p screen and crushed blacks is something you easily spot...

The crushed blacks are the most notice thing if you o play a dark game with crushed blaks you lose more than 50% of the visual feedback.

For me this is the xbox gratest fault and it goes back to the xbox360

Its like if RC cola and real Coke were right next to eachother for the same price. sure RC cola is alright in its own way, but why would you really pick it over Coke lol

If you are Canadian, eh?

Lol im canadian and i wouldnt pick Rc cola lol   But i think im missing the joke

Well, to be fair, BOTH RC and US made Coca-Cola are inferior to the Mexican Coke!  (still made with sugar down there)  Fortunately, grocery stores up here in Washington State are realizing this and stocking the imported stuff...

the differences are so small that it really shouldnt factor into which console to buy. which console your friends have, which controller you like better, hell, even which looks more appealing or which looks better in your entertainment center should be bigger priorities than the differences you will notice in the ps4/x1 versions of games.

OP is about games not console preference, hell if you read the OP poses the question on the presuppostion that one owns both consoles.

Yes, and it is incredibly obvious. It isn't "A little" better, it is measurably and noticeably better.

Tom, you bring up a good point.  Because no one is arguing about whether it is measureably better on the PS4 than the XB1, it should be obvious.

BUT, I would rather you actually tell me what you did that made it so obvious to you.  You must own both consoles and you must have 2 of the same TV's set up next to each other and have bought or rented the same games.  Then, while you were in the middle of playing these games, jumped to the other console and took off from the same spot and found the difference "noticeably better".

I am being sarcastic of course.  I doubt that you or really anybody has done that.

My point has been that the differences while obvious in digital foundry comparisons of most of the launch titles, are a lot less obvious if you are actually playing a game.

it still comes down to which controller you prefer. id still say thats a bigger factor than the resolution. framerate though, thats a huge difference.

Odd question, and some odd responses. I think people are really kind of stretching here to avoid admitting the actual truth. The truth is, most multiplats perform better on the PS4, you can argue whether that's a major improvement or not to your hearts content, but that's delving deeper into the question than what is being asked.

Better, is better. Whether it's marginal, or monumental, is irrelevant.

Yes, better is better.  Only if better is what you were told and not what you experience.

I will go with a car analogy.  When discussing sports cars, many people may tell you that a Ferrari is "Better" than a Lamborghini.  Now, the people who say that can possibly come up with dozens of technical reasons to think so.  And, those reasons may be technically correct.  But, when you sit in the seat of both of them and drive around, you will not find those differences.  The reason is that unless your going fast enough in the right a=exact set of circumstances, the differences are imperceptible.

That was the real point of the OP.  That the actual differences while actually playing the more recent versions of the multiplats shows that the differences are not perceptible to the person playing the game.  Yes, digital foundry will tell you there is a difference, but they aren't playing the game.  they are just looking at it.

That is not comparable, higher resolution and higher framerates are objectively better than their lower counterparts, their is no opinion about that. The differences in subjectively percieved experiences are irrelevant, because other than the Reso/Framerate these games are identical. You're essentially saying that if you drive a Lamborghini in on a bright day in California vs the exact same Lamborghini on a rainy smogy day stuck in traffic in Shanghai.

The differences in reso/framerate are objectively real, and just because you can't see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

In your opinion. I for example do not care, and my friend who is Left Handed, hates the XB controller layout. And if controller prefrence matters, then its an outside influence that determines which version you get, despite the fact that the PS4 version is the better performing/graphical version.

So, your saying that differences that can't be percieved by the user should matter?

Wow, then the gaming experience won't be enough to ever satisfy the user no matter what system they buy.  They need to buy agaming  PC no matter what then.
