This is laughably moronic argument and flat false. Not to mention the difference often go beyond resolution (Like some games missing AO, worse shadows, more Alaising, screen tearing jump out)...... You can feel Frame differences, and you can see Resolution difference immedaitely unless you have eye sight issuies. Your thread is moronic.

Good of you to comment with a new account to avoid a banning.  Proves your point oh so well.

You cannot refute facts so deflect and spew nonsense, good thread LMAO.

OK, you got me.  I am supposed to argue with nothing?  Besides your making a personal attack on me, what you said doesn't even follow in the conversation you quoted.  You claim that the framerate will be obvious?  How, if you are playing a game on the PS4 without instantly switching to the XB1 would you notice?  Try to come up with a real scenario that proves your point.

Destiny was the only game I played on both my X1 and PS4. On the same TV there was NO difference at all during game play. For me to see the difference I had to pause screens and really look. Yes the PS4 was crisper with a hint of more detail. BUT.. The Beta was 1080p on PS4 and 900p on X1. The release on X1 will be 1080p so that might make the minuscule difference even less.

The only thing I could say is that I enjoyed playing Destiny better on the X1 because of the controller. The X1 controller just felt better for me. That is purely a preference.

LOL Destiny is one game a last gen cross gen title where bungie aimed at parity, many games have double the res and frames on PS4..horrid example.

Well. I also played it on X360 and PS3..   Played it on all 4 systems.. and let me tell you..  there was no parity. The PS3 version was horrid, and seemed like a game from 5 years ago.  X360 was better.  But you make no sense.. Point is the game will be 1080p/30fps on BOTH the PS4 and X1.   The BETA was 1080p vs 900p. So EVEN with that there was almsot NO difference in the game... played on the same TV.   So when both are 1080p they will be pretty much identical.

And I started off by saying that "Destiny was the only game" I played on both systems..    Very much pointed out it was "one game"...

Yes, can't argue with facts when multiple sources have confirmed this already.

Can you show me these sources that can confirm that "multi plats are Better"?

I assume you mean the sources that I mentioned in the OP that prove that the framerates and resoltions are usually better on the PS4.

That fact is not in debate, nor should it be.  My point had more to do with how it really matters.

ROFL....umm google and hundreds of articles wilcomeup, digital foundry is a good place to start, you are being purposely obtuse and are in massive spin mode it's pathetic.

You can't seem to follow along.  I have stated in the OP and numerous other times that the items you suggest are not being argued at all.  They also don't change the point of the OP.  You skipped to the end without reading.

It is near the end of the end....

We can't forget about the PS3 can't do GRASSZZZZZ.

The gap is wider then you think.

The original question is "Are the PS4 versions of multiplats really better?"

The answer is simply yes.

The much more hand wavy question that is being asked is, "Is it enough of a difference that it should matter which version of the game you buy?"

The answer is, it depends. If, in your situation, the only difference between buying the game on the ps4 or the xbox one was that the ps4 version is slightly better resolution (even if you don't have a tv that can render the difference), then you should still purchase it on the ps4. Because there would be a reason to, but no reason not to. If your choice is more complicated (say you have friends on a particular network, or you already own one of the consoles, or you're already knee deep in internet arguements and you don't want to hurt your ego, ect...), then you will have to weigh the pros and cons of choosing a version and decide what is best in your situation.

Yes, that was the real point of the OP.

My mistake really, as I always fall for the part where I assume people will read the OP before commenting.

I also agree with your reasoning to a point.  I will say, that if a majority of the multiplats going forward have very minimal differences, even the "buy it on PS4 anyway" really won't matter.  It seems that in reality, while playing these games, that most people would not be able to perceive the differences.  Yes, they are more obvious when looking at screenshots or the comparison videos.  But, if you are playing the game, they are truely imperceptible.  Sure, there were a couple of games at launch that were way more obvious due to the much larger gap.  But, that seems to be dissipating on the multi plats.

Time will tell of course.

Yes. Next question.

Literally, exactly what I was going to post.

Its simple reasoning really.

If the games are virtually identical, and the only difference is better resolution or framerate, the gaps of which where much smaller last generation but paradoxically mattered a whole lot more i.e 900p to 1080p is bigger then 720p to 800p but 800p mattered a lot more, and they cost the same price, 60$. Then the better version is obviously the one that has better framerate/resolution.

Why would you willingly pay the same price for a worse version of the game, even if you claim you can't tell the difference. It seems like purposely cheating yourself. The only justification that makes any sense is if you have reasons outside of the game, such as friends on the console to play the game with or already being subscribed to one of the Networks, or you really like the Tablet, lol touch screen hacking..., other than those there is really no valid reason.

It "mattered a whole lot more" then because PS3 was supposed to have the best graphics (and blow 360 out the water, sales-wise). When that didn't happen, initially, Xbox fans took it and ran with it. Now they're in the 2007-08 PS3 fan scenario, and they don't like it (talk about not being able to take what you dish out). So, while the differences this gen are greater than they were last gen, they "don't matter" because Xbox fans don't want to be ridiculed for being in the very position they looked down on just a few years ago.

Coke>Anything I love that white stuff. (JK of course)

Odd question, and some odd responses. I think people are really kind of stretching here to avoid admitting the actual truth. The truth is, most multiplats perform better on the PS4, you can argue whether that's a major improvement or not to your hearts content, but that's delving deeper into the question than what is being asked.

Better, is better. Whether it's marginal, or monumental, is irrelevant.
