The guy you are talking about was trying to change sow of the items you refered to -  the policy s are Nintendo s -

what you are saying about Dan A is way off base

Don't pay attention to him. He's a troll and quite unknowledgable on anything.

He doesn't know that Nintendo's indie scene is booming... even more so than other platforms. (Aside from steam)

Then proof me wrong, instead of calling me a troll, show me the recent articles, links, interviews.. have you read the gamasutra article I posted? and more importantly the comments? http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/207218/The_brick_wall_No_close_encounters_with_Nintendos_indie_exec.php

Or this one about the Crossbuy? http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/219923/Nintendo_finally_has_a_crossbuy_game_for_3DS_Wii_U.php
Why is it only in Europe? why does it only work if you buy the 3DS version?

Or the one about people saying that the eShop is small and more quieter then the other stores so they have a bigger change to stand out with their game
http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/215885/Let_them_slug_it_out_on_mobile_or_Steam__the_quiet_benefits_of_Nintendos_eShop.php
Is it positive? Is it booming?

and yes the above 3 are recent articles.. not old ones..

Don't you think it was a bit late when Dan said: "We're trying to do a better job of reaching out to indies" in september 2013?
http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/199896/Nintendo_Were_trying_to_do_a_better_job_of_reaching_out_to_indies.php
Its not like the indie scene started in 2013.. Don't you think thats late? What was his job the other 8,5 years he worked there? How long is the WiiU out there?

You may call me a troll but then back it up..

Gamasutra, is a PS biased website. The website tends to spin Nintendo in the negative even when there is a ton of positive. It's booming now and it has been since late last year after the announcement of many titles. The funny thing is you post three articles from the same website but the website they pulled the interview from (Kotaku) paints a different light. One where Dan basically was part of a larger team but also helped in the removal of old policies. The fact is, the Wii U is a indie haven. Instant feedback from fans and considering many indie games are coming to the Wii U before they go to something like the PS4 says a lot in comparison. Also that crossbuy thing is for a completely new game. Dan did not work for NoE, he worked for NoA and never had a say in the cross buy game. Next time, get your info from a non-biased website. It's booming, and forever will be. Since there is next to no third party these indie games get heavily advertised. Compared to what I have witnessed on the PS4 and PS3, there is next to no advertising.

Also I corrected you with the proper word. Prove not proof.  Do you also mix up loose and lose?

O wow.. really.. thats it? gamesutra is a biased playstation site...don't make stuff up.. that's embarassing..
So you don't like what I wrote called me a troll and then called gamesutra basicly a troll.. yeah that convincing..
Basicly you are saying "there are a lot of games coming, its great" blind for the problems developers are telling the press, strange outdated workings (like you can't buy from the site) 1 crossbuy game etc.. Cause that site is biased and I'm a troll.. thats fine if you want to think that way

You praise that indie games come to the WiiU before the PS4.. If you had really looked deeper you'll see a lot of mobile ports..
Squids Odyssey, the amazing Tengami and more.. but when the creator of Tengami answers:

As a Wii U developer, are you concerned by the console's slow sales? Why or why not?

I am not overly concerned by this, to be honest. Tengami is not exclusive to the Wii U, which means we are not only relying on just the Wii U sales to support our work.

That really shouldn't be the answer, should it?

Dan did not work for NoE, he worked for NoA and never had a say in the cross buy game.
Yes that's the point.. He should have made crossbuy also available in NoA.. If NoE could do it why not NoA.. thank you for agreeing with me

And I don't know which sites you visit, if you haven't seen the press exposure No Man's Sky has gotten I can't help that.

You may call me a troll but if you don't see how bad Nintendo has been, yet improving, and now have a clean chance, without Dan, to truely push for the Indie market.. I can't help that.. Actually what I'm trying to say is:

Nintendo should have been the one to see the potential of Minecraft and have it timed exclusive on their systems. It utterly dissappointing that MS beat them to it.. that should have never happend.

I hope that the new indie boss will find such a game..
And I'm not a native english speaker..

You are placing the blame on the 1 guy who did more to make positive changes re Ninrenso s Indy policies and games than anyone -  one of the reasosn he is leaving is due to him having g spoken out against some of the policies that none of us like -  if you cared to look I to the guys work history w Nintendo you would not be putting blame on him-  he did a tremendous job and it will be difficult to replace him -  my base point is if you think the Indy situation is weak at Nintendo so now, it would have been far worse w out Dan A

I'll stop calling you a troll but the site is biased, simple as that. it's pretty obvious which sites are and you are just too blind to see that.

Then you bring up one developer... one developer.... 1 developer out of hundreds to try and make your statement solid fact.

And then you act like Dan Alderman was in charge of everything indie at Nintendo. Like he had all the final say. You can't be that stupid.

Then you bring up Minecraft, both Mojang and Nintendo have shown interest by Miyamoto basically said "because Japanese gamers are not in to Minecraft" Which solidifies Nintendo would not pay for a port of Minecraft. That game is entirely up to Mojang.

My suggestion, find articles in your own native tongue. Don't try and understand anything in English because besides a few sites. They all predominantly side with Sony or Microsoft and to someone who can't speak or read English natively you're going to be swung to whatever directiong the article wants. You're entirely mixed up and it's Gamasutra's fault why you are mixed up. No developer, besides EA (apparently), has had bad relations with Nintendo during the Wii and Wii U eras. You obviously don't own a Wii U so you don't follow the indie scene on it. It has been booming and developers usually praise how they can interact and get feedback from fans in Miiverse better than they can from other platforms. The post launch dev kits have been praised as easy to work with and extremely well documented. The fact of the matter is that this argument shouldnt even be going on.

This guy (Dan) left Nintendo after 9 years of being the face of Nintendo's indie scene (he had some influence, but he also was a public relations guy). he had gotten Nintendo to change or remove policies. For a company that many think "doesn't take negative criticism well" sure did a lot to change from it.  The fact that Nintendo did NOT fire him for his Twitter incident a couple years ago says a lot about the company works. Dan was seen as valuable and when he left, he left on very good intentions. So before you try and steer this thread in to a "but Nintendo is bad" type thread I suggest you go read the actual interview

Isn't that the beauty of all of this? We'll find out in a while... Was Dan held back by Nintendo policies? Or was Dan not strong enough to change those policies? A nice guy doesn't automaticly mean he was a good leader.. Is there something wrong for hoping for someone stronger who can change the system and make a(n even) better indie situation at Nintendo?

Absolutely nothing wrong with that. Though it's unlikely his successor will ever say anything other than nice things about Dan Adelman and the team he put in place.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Sure.. Thats what any successor in a team would do.. Look at sport teams..  But Dan is taking some cheap shots at his former employee..

“Wii U is not selling as well as it deserves to. It has a lot to offer with great games you can’t get anywhere else. The value of the GamePad hasn’t been justified. But the name Wii U is abysmal. I think that cut sales in half right there.”

Sure the first part is positive, but the second part.. :(
