I wonder how much the Wii U sold there since September 2013, Mario 3D World, Christmas and Mario Kart must have given it some boost. If it was 160 back then, could it be close to 300 now?
is it safe to say PS3 already outsold X360?

I've been saying it, but the site has adjusted, here and there, accordingly. I believe this transition happened when it was first reported (although, it was reported here-and-there between 2011 and 2013). |
We had at least 5 overtake parties right?

There is a Greek site the moderator is a massive xbox fun yeah now he write previews reviews for example on the Order preview for the six paragraph the five is how awesome is the Gears and how Sony fails to copy it. When it was moderator he delete ''accindentally'' the Sony forums. Now why i'm write all this, because i wonder if something like that is happening here with ps vs xbox sales :) i have see a couple post here and guys talk about how the 360 catch the ps3 so fast when the difference was more the 1m? and now is tie? Someone sneaky sneanky changes the number :) Can we create a new picture with total sales like the first page with title "According to randomness" or whatever numbers we want LOL it wii be hilarious

Man, at least now the site a little better before criticizing it.
The numbers were corrected (probably in the wrong distribution) because Sony and MS have basically the same LTD shipment report so since we don't expect to have an extra 1M on shelves for X360 (and it strong SW sells, above PS LTD and still close weekly even when HW in the weekly reports are far apart) them total HW should be really close as well.

You have to wonder if some regions cost more in infrastructure, support, and advertising than they can cover in the slim margins that consoles bring in. Then you have higher EU taxation and higher employment costs for the EU workforce thanks to better benefits and salaries on average. They may well be losing $ in Germany at the moment, and if the numbers actually decline (likely when looking at LTD 2014), that will go from hypothetical to irrefutable. So do they double down on the failure, or just start slowly dialing back EU workforce, marketing, support, and distribution. With poor sales, it will be tougher and tougher to convince retailers to allot shelf space, and distributors to allot transport and warehouse space.

It could already be happening; they DID recently announce they were cutting three quarters of the Xbox EMEA (Europe Middle East Asia) division, as part of the round of post-Nokia-acquisition cuts. (Here is an article to a job listing for the department, as even the remaining positions need to be reapplied to by all former employees; http://ca.linkedin.com/jobs2/view/12628798?trk=jobs_search_public_seo_page To give an idea as to what they do.)
Granted, I read someone suggesting this was simply because it was getting close to the larger-market release, and Microsoft didn't NEED to keep all those people when the console released, but... well, it just strikes me as odd that, in markets where you are the underdog in almost every region, you'll hamstring the department that's supposed to moderate and develop FOR those regions, especially by seventy-five percent. The fact that it's happening suggests Microsoft might see the proverbial writing on the wall, and is looking to cut their losses in those areas, and focus on their (currently former) strongholds instead.
To be fair, can't really blame em at this point. o.O The Xbox360 was their best shot at Europe, and it still couldn't catch up to the PS3; this generation, Europe is likely to be a biiit of a slaughter.

Good for the PS4
Overall just reinforces that the european tracking on vgchartz is the sketchiest.
