300K on a LTD of 4.2M is not whopping (whooping is a different word), it's only a 7% error.

OTOH 1 million overtrack on a LTD of 2.1M is massive, that's a 50% error.

If US is overtracked for Xb360 (as apparently LTD numbers from NPD indicates) and so is Germany by a massive amount, where is the monumental undertracking that LTD shipments of 360 would suggest? I think most people would say that VGC's global LTD for 360 is about right or slightly low. But it looks like individual country LTDs are way off and all over the place. But that some are massively under while others are massively over seems to balance things out globally.

And wow Xbox brand going from precisely 2:1 in PS3's favour to precisely 3:1 in PS3's favour is a large drop. Could this be a whole of continental Europe thing?

Calling that VGC 360 number 'tracked' in any capacity is being generous.

Is overestimate by 140,000 only with USA and Germany, so only with this 2 markect, XOne have sold 4.82 million... but i'm not surprised if is overestimates by other 70,000 in rest of world... maybe even less than 4,750,000.

Yep, this just reinforces my conclusion that VGC's estimates on Europe are totally whack. Over 1 million overtracked on the 360 (and this is just Germany) is not acceptable.

And the X1 is doing really badly in Germany (and Europe, in general). It has gone from 2:1 last gen to almost 3:1 in Germany this gen.

ehh i dont look at it that way. 300k is big. 1 million is massive. its that simple to me when it comes to a console that is at the end of its life. granted, i said the whooping before i saw the xbox 360 numbers, so whooping probably isnt the best word to use. 

Damn those 360 numbers, thats a massive over estimated LTD. VGC has its wok cut out, after the leaked NPD LTD, Sony/MS/Nin financials and now this.

Yes 300K is a larger LTD discrepancy than it should be, LTDs should be under 5% difference from actual, and globally under 1% difference. But it does not suggest a serious flaw in VGC tracking for PS3 in Germany. Unlike 360 tracking which is terrible.
