im saying people will see Mario and buy it for 5 dollars cause its mario and they already have a phone. They do the same for Sonic and others. Their is no "smart" or "dumb" in that decision.
Don't really think the whole mobile idea is a good one, but I believe that Nintendo could be a lot more profitable if they didn't confine their games to their hardware, so actually I'd say that their strength is making software which is then held back by their hardware.
Also Hiroshi Yamauchi founded Nintendo now? Wonder how he did that 38 years before being born.
For short run mobile games will be very successful. But not for the long run. I agree with Iwata with this decision.

Well you wont have to buy a Nintendo device to play those games then...

I am getting real. You get real. You put one game on mobile people demand more games and more franchises. eventually Nintendo would give in because of it. Why would they butcher sales on other platforms? Not even to mention the prices have to conform to Nintendo pricing schemes and not traditional ones for mobile. So Super Mario bros 1 would be 5 dollars on mobile, same as it is on Wii and Wii U and 3DS. People would not accept that making it wasted sales potential

Although the original source is in Japanese and is reputable, the translation is unconfirmed and me not be completely accurate. According to a new report released by the Japanese Business Journal, there is infighting currently raging amongst the Nintendo upper management.
According to the report, a lot of the management that has been with Nintendo for a while also feels that Iwata is an “outsider” due to his origins at HAL Laboratory rather than actually at Nintendo. Due to this, many are calling for Yamauchi’s first son to be President of Nintendo rather than Iwata. Once again, this translation is unconfirmed, but it may mean that although Iwata’s excellent approval rating of 80% has most of stock-holders satisfied, the upper management may not be so happy with the President.
Very interesting. |
Seems like click bate. Not enough solid information. Internal scheming against a company or person can be grounds for dismissal, plus there are usually internal or more often than not external third parties that handle this kind of stuff for companies so they can attempt to keep in touch with their employees. Running and spouting this kind of information to a journalist could be considered defemation and again, could be grounds for dismissal. If you are unhappy with the direction of the company you are working for, feel free to go work for another company.
Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

Yes you do, if you want to play the latest and greatest. People arent buying Wii Us and 3ds' for Mario 1, they are barely buying anything really in Wii U's case. Not sure why this is hard to grasp

The VC is a selling point of Nintendo systems. Some people buy it for those old games.
