"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

And I think Spotpass/Streetpass is involved in some way too

Its just a box and when you open it, it says "Go outside"

What if it's a big box, you open it, and it says "go inside". You travel through a wormhole, and end up in the Mushroom Kingdom. Once there, you have to do all the usual Mario stuff. The box is also big enough for multiplayer, and it has automatic character selection. If you're tall and skinny, you're Luigi. Stocky dude with facial hair? Wario. Your pet dog can be Yoshi. Your girlfriend can be Peach or Daisy. Bowser is modeled after your boss. And between levels you receive actual plumber training.

I think you should take the advice of my box...

I don't know why, but I laughed out loud when I read your response to his Mario kingdom box. Most certainly the first time anyone has made me laugh on this site.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

Whatever it is it has to be something that justifies new hardware and isn't going to be easily feature by feature mimicked by an android app.

But the outside world is a big and scary place. Can I at least bring my Pikachu plushie? I always feel safer with my Pikachu.

Everyone loves Pikachu, so you'll be totally OK!

Posted it also in the other thread - my prediction is:

Nintendo aims for our social life. Meeting with friends and people.

Imagine an augmented reality device which lets you capture pokemon on the street and meet with other "trainers" to battle them ... dynamic events appear - in the real world!

A smartphone app is my guess. Well not just a smartphone app, but something that has cloud storage across the PC, Smartphones, 3DS, and Wii U that somehow improves your quality of life....

I think it may be a handheld wii, although one that'll plug direct into the TV, and have onboard pedometer etc. with built in wii games, compatible with balance board etc.

Basically an amalgam of all the fitness stuff into one device.
