the thing is, the premise of your prank lasted about 15 seconds.. they then figured it out and at that point it was just you harassing them.

there are 2 ways a prank phone call can go to be funny. The first is the person believing who you are, AND the premise for the call, with the humor lying in the gullibility of the person at the other end. The second is from an angry response, Like insults, cursing and ranting etc.

This had neither. they simple told you to check the site, and stop calling. and from there just hung up on you.

ok i think youre absolutely right about everything that you said. my other calls execute all of that PERFECTLY, i swear.  i just threw this one up for variety on my channel, but thanks for reinforcing what i already know.

however, i do think that by driving the employee to say, "oh my god this guys so fucking annoying" does make it more funny. driving somebody to verbalize that i think is funny. but again, your analysis on how a call can be funny i think is spot on.

seems like nobody really likes this call, but thats ok. its really not that good. i will definitely strive for a better gamestop call.

they do deal with shit like that all the time. i work at a video game store.. thats basically where i got the idea from.

but anyway, i cant disagree with you on the bolded.. in all of our videos, you can say we are being dicks to people, although im not really sure how you can prank somebody without inconveniencing them.. 

Yes, prank calls are the OPPOSITE of funny. They are only funny if the other person deserves it (telemarketer or scammer, for example). All you are doing is wasting the guy's time and hogging up the phone line when other customers might be trying to call.

 

Delete this please and save face.

Sounds more like a spot on example of what GameSpot employees go through. It's just all too real to be funny. You know, while your previous prank was completely immoral, you do seem to have a knack with this improv stuff, it's just very sadly misdirected. You're fast with your lips and never hesitate. You should try radio or voice acting. Maybe even theatre or stand up comedy.

:/ our talents are misdirected? yeah.. our calls can be considered immoral.. i can see that, but some of the things that happen sometimes are so damn funny

Don't. You know you are pretty much commiting to harrassment right here yeah? this is a crime, while you might think it is some bit funny it could land you in an amount of hot water. If you are thinking the defense of "a lot of big radio stations do it" those things are staged, pretty much 99% of decent shows will "ring" interns or hired actors to take their calls and to get upset, since it is actually harrassment no big company will broadcast themselves commiting a crime for entertainment, that doesn't work.

As for this call that you are advertising your youtube channel with on here... it isn't even remotely funny, like others have said comedy like this needs to have a script of things you can ask or say depending on how the other participant reacts, this was 1 unfunny idea for 3 minutes or so, awful to listen to. If you do insist on doing prank calls check out Rhett and Link on youtube, I'm not advising you ever make these pestering calls to people, but if you are going to be annoying at least be funny.

dude, there are plenty of gamestop calls on the internet with millions of views that arent fake. i know that for a fact. 

and yeah, ive seen that second result. you really think thats funny? im sorry, i know that my gamestop call inst that good, but at least im making shit up on the fly and using my brain. it certainly is not funny to just wait for somebody to answer and play a recording. i dont know.. just my opinion i suppose. we like our shit to be more authentic. actually, 100% authentic.
