The employees bought into the initial idea(good); which was not funny or going anywhere funny(bad). Then when the employee(s) found out you beat the dead horse for another minute of the audio(really bad).

they do deal with shit like that all the time. i work at a video game store.. thats basically where i got the idea from.

but anyway, i cant disagree with you on the bolded.. in all of our videos, you can say we are being dicks to people, although im not really sure how you can prank somebody without inconveniencing them.. 

Yes, prank calls are the OPPOSITE of funny. They are only funny if the other person deserves it (telemarketer or scammer, for example). All you are doing is wasting the guy's time and hogging up the phone line when other customers might be trying to call.
