Perfect prediction. I too think they will sell at LEAST 6M next year...........even more depending on unkown holiday titles.

but this year it should go to at least 9.5 M by end of year due to Smash + MK8 + Amiibo, but hoping for 10m.

after the holidays I expect 2015's baseline to be 80-90K+, increase of 20-30K by today's baseline of 60K+.

i think the zelda and maybe even the bayonetta spike will be higher than the mk spike.
mk helps selling consoles the whole gen. its a big plus point in your mind if u think about buying a wii u, even if mk alone didnt sold u on the console, it makes it much easy for other games to push u over the cliff

Nintendo's biggest seller ins Mario Kart.

Alot of people say that but it has never been the best selling title on any platform

SNES-4th, N64-2nd, GBA-5th, GC-2nd, DS-3rd, Wii-2nd, 3DS-2nd, Wii U-4th (currently)

So its more like Mario Kart is one of the best sellers and most consistant franchises always selling in the top 5 on any platform.

I think a lot of people are underestimating Zelda's selling power. Twilight Princess is already forgotten?

TP was successfull because it was a cross-gen title and it came on the heels of the Wii boom. That wont happen with the new entry. Cell shaded entries dont perform as well as realistic ones.

Never the less, Im expecting next year to be the peek year for the WiiU with ~4.5 million sales, pushing it LT at over 14 million by January 1 2015. Tough it could also do under 4 million or over 5. Its to early to tell. A lot rides on the reception of the new IPs IMO.

I don't know about Bayonetta. Pre-orders are bound to increase in the US, and there's enough hype. The first game also sold decently, about 2 million.

As for Zelda, that game has a lot more going for it than Skyward Sword.

1) Fans were asking for a non-linear/open-world Zelda, that's what it is.

2) Skyward Sword required you to use Wii Motion Plus, lots of Wii owners didn't have that.

3) Skyward Sword released at the very end of Wii's life. This one is 3 years in on a console that will have a 5-6 year life-cycle.

We'll see about Bayonetta I guess. I'm not sure it'll do a whole lot better than other platinum games. As far as Zelda is concerned like I said it's a wild card, but the Wii U isn't lasting 6 years, not the way it's selling.

GameCube lasted 5 years.

I just can't see how Zelda U is a wild card, though. Can you give your reasoning?

Wind Waker HD did pretty damn good for a remake on a horrible (At the time) selling platform.

Agreed with that. But it was for 2 reasons: lack of games and the high quality of the remake. Im not saying that Zelda U will sell badly, but it will probably push between 4-5 million units lifetime if its well received, and most gamers who wanted a U for the Zelda would have already purchased one by then IMO.

We're not counting handhelds because it's got Pokemon but let's look at the others (I'm not counting pack-in games):

SNES - 2nd (beaten by a mere 0.24M)

N64 - 2nd

GC - 2nd (beaten by approximately 90,000)

Wii - 1st

So, which game will be bigger than Mario Kart for the WiiU?
