The very first two words in my post were "I'm uncertain."

I honestly have no idea what will happen and anyone making comments definitivly about this are being a bit premature to be honest.

Statements  like "I doubt it will outsellf the Vita." for instance.

The only "heavy hitters" Nintendo has released is Mario Kart 8 and NSMBU.

And SM3DW isn't a heavy hitter ?

I really do doubt that the WII U will outsell the vita seeing as how it's being on the market for almost 2 years now ...

It's an isometric 3D mario platformer on a console. That has never happened before, so I dunno how it could be.

Well yes negative press did hurt wii sales, with the hardcore. The wii had plenty of games for the Hardcore but it became a bit of a media punching bag amungst gaming websites and that really hurt the sales of some of those games and Nintendos image in the long run.

A well thought out counterargument there.

Man... where have I seen these words.. or at least similar words to what was used...but used something.... hmm... it was something... small... would fit in your hands and play games.... oh right, the Vita vs the 3DS. Also, with the vita selling half of what the Wii U is and the Wii U has some massive titles coming. The WIi U will pass the Vita no problem, if not by christmas, then by early next year, before spring.

but yeah, it will be an interesting race between Wii U and Xbox One, really, it could go either way. I am guess they will be mostly neck and neck until the end.

The only massive titles that the WII U has left is SSB and Zelda and at the rate the WII U is selling, it would take until roughly around 2016 for that to happen ...

Arguing with you was futile anyway so nothing would have come out of it ...

Zelda, Metroid, Star Fox, Mario Galaxy Successor, and Wii Sports successor are big titles not out yet.

There's also the lower tier exclusives and new IPs that will probably sell well. Looking at you X and Splattoon.

This isn't just about Nintendo being successful though, this is about Sony's efforts to completely snuff out the competition. Destiny is going to be a huge multiplat, and we know that it won't be as good on XB1. Sales of this will be telling, because if the XB1 gets trounced as badly as it did with the WD release, it's just going to inspire Sony to get more exclusive content in those releases, and third parties will have no reason not to indulge them.

Except the same reason they give Sony exclusive content, str8 cash homie.

Also, lol. Did the Wii U have an amazing June or something? Didn't it sell like 60k in May?

Lastly, I don't get the logic of the article. So it's no big deal that MS has a Halo game coming just because it doesn't outsell Call of Duty? Yet Nintendo is catering to Japanese with some games. Wow?

They'll see better sales on the PS4 version, so they'd likely get more cash by providing the extra exclusives to Sony.  Unless you're saying MS is willing to pay them the difference they'd lose in sales by catering to the lesser of the two plus the price Sony is putting on their exclusive content.

The Wii U did just come off the best its done in a long while, but it currently sells in more markets, has more appeal to the Japanese market, has a lot of good press at the moment, and has an ace up its sleeve with mass appeal. They don't have to go gangbusters to beat out the XB1 if Sony continues throttling MS, they just have to do better than they were, which isn't hard.

A Halo Remaster is still a remaster, it probably won't sell as well as the the originals. The franchise is also no longer THE game of the FPS genre. It simply isn't as big a deal as it once was considering the changing landscape. Yes it will help the XB1, especially Halo 5, but but it's not going to be enough.

The Wii U is suffering because it currently doesn't have support. That could change. The XB1 already has third party support, and it's not helping it at all. In fact that's what's killing it: Third parties do way better on the other machine. That's just making the situation worse with every release.

1. All of these deals publishers strike, they won't change depending on market totals. Especially since neither console is going to be a bomb. Their games are going to sell great on these consoles no matter what. The money made off these deals are just icing on the cake. And publishers know the money made off them is well worth the potential loss from consumers who don't buy as a result of the deals. Look at last gen. Did the fact that multi plat games typically sold better on 360 prevent the PS3 from getting these deals? No. But suddenly it will happen to MS?

2. Being appealing in more markets won't matter when the Xbone is more appealing in bigger markets.

3. Your logic regarding Halo just doesn't make sense. Who cares if it doesn't sell 9 million, or if it doesn't outsell CoD or Battlefield or Destiny. Are these Japanese WiiU games going to sell 9 million? Are they going to outsell CoD or Battlefield or Destiny? No. Is WiiU even getting most of these games? No.

4. The support is exactly why the WiiU is doomed. Having AAA 3rd party support that might look a tad better on another platform is still a million times better than not having that support at all.

Nah, they'll go back and forth. I'm also pretty certain Nintendo is going to drop the price to $249 this year, which should help with sales during the holidays, especially in Japan, a country where the Xbox will be close to nonexistent.

Metroid hasn't been announced. The newest star fox game didn't break 1 million. A Mario Galaxy successor hasn't been announced. WII sports successor had not been announced.

The only one that I can see that has potential is Splatoon and the prequel to X didn't even hit 1 million.

Boy that's a lot of announced titles that your betting on ...

He has a really good point though. The Wii had some really great games, but on gaming websites it is generally cast in a negative light. That's something you cannot argue. "Hardcores" look at the Wii and laugh and there's no doubt that it has affected sales of the Wii U. Because Nintendo went for the casual audience with the Wii, they are having a hard time getting back the "hardcores". On top of that, they missed the casual audience, making for less than desirable sales. The point is, even if you don't think that the negative Wii press affected the Wii, it's hard to argue that the Wii's negative press didn't affect the Wii U.

You shrugged off his argument like it was the most ridiculous thing you've ever heard, but to me, what's more ridiculous is how confident you are that the Xbox One will outsell the Wii U. Nobody knows what's going to happen. Am I saying that the Wii U is gonna outsell the Xbox One? Hell no. I have no idea. But at least I don't force my opinions on other people. How about instead of pretending you won the argument, dig up some real reasons you believe the Xbox One will undoubtedly outsell the Wii U. This early in the game, I think you're gonna have a hard time doing that.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.
