Forums - Nintendo - Could Nintendo handle Smash any better leading up to its release?

well yeah it will have far superior local multiplayer but... what about the online. That worries me after the face they recommended that you don't use wireless for it. And yes, Smash bros will suport Amiibo but heres the thing. So will the 3DS, not right away but it will so that is not a differece in the versions. Yeah it makes sense to build hype for the 3DS but at the same time, it is killing the hype for the Wii U version (at least for me and my friends it is).

Any online gamer will tell you that wired connections are infinitely better...thats just logic.

Anyways, there will be more to the game, that is essentially guaranteed. If you have every played a Sakurai before, you will know that he packs his games with content. There is still plenty of time to drum up hype for the Wii U version over the next ~5months and its pretty obvious that the Wii U version is the main version (pretty much all of the character reveal trailers and character images are from the Wii U version) so you really have nothing to worry about...

Yes I know that wired online is the best but the fact that they had to go out of their way and actually recommend it on a broadcast makes me wonder. How stable will this game be online? That's the problem. How  often do you see a company that has wireless things go out and tell you "oh, you might want to plug this in instead of wireless"? So far for me, Nintendo is now the first.

Not trying to sound rude, but that's the dumbest logic ever. How often do you play online fighter/fps games online without a wired connect? There you go.

They've done an excellent job with it. The did a good job wit Kart and we see the results, and they're doing an even better job with Smash. They should give a 100% effort on Xenoblade to target RPG fans and big promos to Splatoon to pick up young/family shooter fans. Then give a major push to MarioMaker and Zelda. By hitting up different genres they could really grow their user base.

EVO is a pretty big fighting game tournament.

Thanks.

How did Nintendo reverse their stance on it, can you share a link/video?

Last year, EVO wanted to add in Super Smash Bros Melee to their streamed events. Nintendo responded with a C&D order. http://www.polygon.com/2013/7/11/4513294/nintendo-were-trying-to-shut-down-evo-not-just-super-smash-bros-melee

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Nintendo is just going all out on this Smash. I wasn't expecting 2 FE character announcements! (Still waiting for Roy and Chrom) And my man Captain Falcon is back! I just can't miss this one.

i was personally way, way more hyped for Brawl because of the daily Dojo updates. i know that the pic of the day on Miiverse is somewhat similar, but still it was so cool waking up everyday with a new announcement on something in the game, especially the unpredictability of when a newcomer will be revealed.

remake the character models they look sub par IMO.

Nintendo are doing a cracking job hyping Smash Bros, along with all the press coverage and reveals etc, there are almost weekly updates and screen shots on Miiverse. With an install base approaching 7 million, thats a lot of exposure and potential buyers of the game also.

Edit- Holy shit, how could i forget the Miiverse users of the 3DS too. Im so hyped for the Wii U version i forget there's a 3DS one too lol

The only ways I can think of is have a 3DS Smash Direct.
