Good luck, OP. Also the issue with PC is the entry cost not the service cost. Generally, speaking their are many instances where the entry cost and the usage cost balance out and are even lower than consoles, but this is not always the case.

E.G. consider the COD bro i.e someone who only plays COD. If he buys the yearly COD series on release day, you can get it for 50-60 on PC and 60 on Console day 1. PC deals will be irrelevant to him and that 10$ he saved will still end up costing him more than if he went the console route. Things become even more hairy if he sells the game to get the new version, since you can't do that on PC, he is buying a new copy on PC versus a trade-in copy on console. The PC ends up costing him more per game in the long run.

Are you comparing playing COD on a PC vs. playing it on a console? Really?

I won't even talk about the visual gap, just the free online on PC vs. the $60 per year on console, resulting on a $400 added cost during a 6/7 years console lifetime of gaming.

But the real  issue here is input, I know everyone has its own tastes but you can't objectively compare the Keyboard+Mouse combo with a gamepad, that is just a joke!

emotional cost of having to play with significantly more cheaters, or playing on a massively uneven playing field > $60.

Nintendo has no control over Xenoblade copies that are out there. Retailers found some and started selling them at rediculously high prices. Wal-mart is pretty bad for this. They have Other M for 80 dollars at the store in my city. Also, Wonderful 101 recieved a price drop, as did a lot of the launch titles.

Sure it does. They can release more copies - it's their game for crying out loud! W101 is still way too expensive for what it's worth. At least 2 times too expensive.

No, they don't. That's a god damn verifyable fact. The production run ended a long time ago, and any copies in the wild have already been paid for by the companies who bought them. Therefore they can sell them at whatever price they want, or do you just not know how distribution works?

W101 is 34 dollars (CAD) where I live, that isn't that much and the game released at 60.That's just over half price. The game isn't worth 10 dollars, it's worth more than that. Hell CoD isn't worth that much with all the assest they reuse

Many games had reprints and extra copies released due to high demand, there is no reason why they couldn't do it. It's a Nintendo game, just produce more copies, what's the problems?

I think that W101 is actually worth between 10 and 15 Euro for me. Wouldn't pay more for it, as I have no idea if I'm gonna enjoy it or not. The only CoD I have ever bought new was Modern Warfare, after that I only buy them used, cause it's the same game to me.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Nintendo has no direct control over the prices of the circulating copies but for sure they have indirect control over the prices: they just have to start another print run and sell it... or do you just not know how prices are regulated? Supply and demand determine the price... if they enhance the supply and demand stays the same, the price will sink.

Or aren't they allowed to produce more units?

The problem with that, the Wii is unsupported. Unless they (Nintendo) do a limited run of the game (which they wont), the price of Xenoblade will never go down. The supply is just not there, so the demand will increase the price dramatically.

They likely aren't allowed to produce more units, and likely wont with the sequal coming

Many did, Xenoblade didn't it had an artifical injection of new copies from a gamestop warehouse which set the price to 80. Mysteriously they "forgot" about that entire shipment which they already paid for. Nintendo just can't reprint games when they want, especially on a console they officially stopped supporting. Would be better off paying for a HD port of the game and digitally distribute it.

At least in converstion, 15 euro is around 20 CAD which isn't too bad considering that's the Wal-mart bargin bin prices.

Why is that likely? Who would have an interest to forbid them to supply the demand? Monolith Soft? They would get their cut of the additional sales!

And it has not even to be a retail version. Why not offer the game in the eShop, downloadable to Wii and Wii U consoles?

Do you know how many times PC gamers have put the cost of PC gaming argument to rest? There will be many more times that it will be put to rest as well.

They are still well above the level of Sony/MS games, which is often a dealbreaker for me. I'm not gonna pay 45-60 Euro for a Pikmin, Wonderful 101 or some other game that isn't an obvious hit and comes from a franchise that is unknowned for me. I'd pay some 15-20 Euro for it, but not that much. I'm no, digital versions on the absurd e-shop aren't the answer. Even free games on it have next to no value for me and are no incentive due to them being tied to the console and not my account.

Yeah, €30 € was my upper limit for Pikmin 3... but I had luck and got it for €15 (€20 with shipping) as Amazon Warehouse deal.

Lucky you. How much do you it's worth?

I haven't played it far enough yet to get challenging, but so far I like it very much. It's probably worth the €35 - €40 for which you should get it now.

I am much more interested in playing the console exclusives than playing second banana gaming since developers seem to prioritize consoles. I do enjoy playing games on my laptop but I don't need to have these amazing specs to enjoy my PC gaming. I got my Asus laptop back in 2010 and it still satisfies all my PC gaming needs. Ultra High settings don't make the game any better.
