Wrong website to say the sales don't matter

BTW the game you play the most may not be your favourite game. Many games are just played hours long just because people are dead bored.

My favourite game is Twewy. I spent 120-150 hours on it. It's 5 times less than LoL or even the disgaea franchise. It still my favourite game.

Nothing to do with mazochism. It can simply have more replayability of more content to wade through. Doesn't mean i enjoy it more than a game I played less of. I played +500 hours of L4D1 and i enjoyed several 5 hour indies more than that game. It's like the difference between going out to the bar casually with friends every weekend and going to a foreign country having a really fantastic one-time holiday. Nobody said I didn't enjoy. Just enjoy it less. It's something casual, fleeting and to kill time, nothing more. The best and most memorable are the same thing. As i said previously it is a matter of quality over quantity. best = quality.

That game had a great soundtrack, my favorite being Lorelei's theme. Still listen to it to this day.

Well you are right and I guess my wording got all mixed up. Having thought about it, there may actually be a tangible way to descibe the best console. First off the primary fucntion of these consoles are to play games right? Then it would be safe to assume that the best console si the one that has the highest number of high rated games on the platform. Games period, both exclusive and multiplatform.

If an 80% minimum from at least 50 reviews on metacritic is required for any game to qualify, then the console that has the highest number of 80%+ games on metacritic should then represent without doubt the best place to play games. Then if you want to look at power the specs should tell you which is th emost powerful and then most popular is determined by sales. Most successful could be a measure of all these three factors.

Kinda easy when you think of it.

It is strange how people are so open minded about sales vs quality when it comes to games, but consoles its all about the sales. For example last year LoU was many peoples GOTY yet didn't even outsell CoD on pS3? Well it must be a worse game then. There's also console wwarrior shenanigans involved. I doubt most people here would honestly say the Wii was the best console last gen.
