Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Rants: Project CARS Screws Wii U Owners

You're right. There are all kinds of fanboys. For example those who only buy games because their favorite company can generate some money, even though they're not interested in the game.

Totally forgot about those. Thanks.

Also delaying a game = not supporting the platform? Got it.

Even when you're wrong, you come back with something to say even worse. I didn't say delaying is not supporting, I said it was one of the few supporting Wii U this year. And just because I choose to support 3rd parties on Wii U doesn't make me a fanboy.

We WiiU owners just have to accept being left out at this point. If you want third party, then get a PS4 or XB1 as well.

The gaming industry message is: ''Who you think you are? If you (only) own a Wii U you are second class, you are not allowed to sit with us, go back to the last table... freaking inferior people man i tell you'' haha

I am pretty sure this is due to Bandai Namco as the Wii U if I remember correctly was one of the main platforms for this game while the Xone an d PS4 were stretch goals and this was made shortly after they took the publishing of the game.

What I've read states that Namco is solely the distributor and I have no reason to believe that the distributor for a game can have the kind of power that you are assuming.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_CARS  Slightly Mad Studios is still very much in charge of this title.

Started to take him seriously when he understood basic facts like xbox and PS4 being able to get easier ports but then he goes and recommends delaying one of those instead of the wii U.... hahahah.

And he truly believes a poll on the website is how sales would have turned out.

He really should have written a script. People say some silly stuff when they are mad.

A bad indicator is worse than no indicator.

Please explain why it will sell less on the Wii U because of the delay. And in case I misunderstood you. Please explain why it would sell better on Wii U than on PS4 or Xbox when only 1% of racing sim fans own a Wii U.

You misunderstood. I already said why it would sell better. There is already an over-saturation of racing titles coming to the PS4 and X1. A racing sim is pretty much seen as boring and another choice. There is none on the Wii U, and it's the only one planned. Indie titles like these typically sell better when there is no competition on the Wii U. None of the sim crowd owns PS4 and X1 for sims, they own PCs for it; That's just plain fact. I know people in this crowd and a lot of them have custom racing setups.

In case you couldn't decypher that from my comment. It will sell better on Wii U compared to PS4 and One individually because of no competiting game in that genre  on the console.

That poll that was made, it's a significantly better indicator of the crowd that follows these games. For future reference, stop injecting false percentages in to an argument to try and solidify your argument. You have zero data to back up that percentage.

Im not really that bothered by the fact that its delayed, but WiiU owners who helped fund this game got screwed by this. Being used like that is not very fun I imagine.

Uuh, Shawn Long, I can't stand that dude.

Project CARS is primarily a game for PC gamers. It's too hardcore for most console gamers, but Wii U owners were happy to get a realistic racing game at all.

And it was hoped to be a showcase how multiplats on Wii U could look when they're not ported from the X360 and when they're made by graphics geeks like Slightly Mad Studios.

I doubt that it will sell well on PS4 and X1, but it's easy to port.

Namco only has retail distribution rights for the game. At this point with all the outpouring I wouldn't be surprised if Slightly Mad offered some incentive to Wii U owners as an apology. However it is fact that the Wii U was one of the original platforms for this title with the PC being the lead development platform. Namco can block retail sales of the Wii U version til 2015, but digital is all on Slightly Mad. However I have my theories on why it's being delayed, and Namco Bandai is that theory. Who's developing Smash Bros? Who wants to maximize profits? The exact company who is distributing Project Cars.
