Forums - Gaming Discussion - TLOU:R isn't worth it

it is unrelated because you are comparing games that sell without price drops with soon rereleases consting more much more than the heavily discounted first release. you can try talking about nintendo's prices elsewhere but it has no place here.

It's a remaster that costs $5 more than the DLC and PS3 game sold separately ($50 vs $45).  I don't consider that 'costing much more' than the first release.

I think that the game runs @60FPS is worth it for a lot of people (PC Gamers mostly).

It won't release on PC, not sure how much of the people having PC as primary gaming machine will buy a PS4 and TLOU on it.. I even saw someone saying that he won't buy a PS4 for its game he will just use an emulator and pirate games... I seriously don't have a clue of how long it will take to emulate PS4 and what will be the machine requirements (probably will be a lot less stepper than on PS3 release time with exquisite hw choice).

The PS2 emulator isn't even that great he'll be waiting a long time.

I expect it to take not that long, given the architecture PS4 uses (same applies to Xbone).

One of the complain people are making is that the game is a rip-off by being 50,00 (even tough it is just a year old and an upgraded version + DLC, so for the same price a GOTY edition cost you still get a lot of upgrades), but some of the same people don't complain about Nintendo pricing scheme.

Probably because what you call "pricing scheme" most people just understand to be "business".

So instead of price scheme it's bussiness, but the release is a ripoff, thanks for the input.

I don't think everyone agrees with you about "price scheming", and I don't think everyone agrees that LoU HD is a ripoff either. Thankfully the world is not black and white and there is room to feel one way or another about various things.

Considering that the PS4 is lacking in original exclusives, I would much rather those have been given priority over the abundance of remakes that it has been getting. The graphical gap between the PS3 and PS4 is not great enough to make a remake worth a double dip. Of course there are people who never played the original and don't own a PS4, but the bottom line is that if Sony is telling me that I should spend $400 for the future of gaming, I shouldn't be playing the (very recent) past.

The same argument goes for GTAV, Tomb Raider, Payday, and whatever. Halo Master Chief Collection is iffy, but it at least includes 4 games, 2 of which were old enough to make a facelift worthwhile. Wind Waker HD is another case where enough time has passed that a remake would be worthwhile, even if that remake should have come later in the console's lifespan.

Maybe. Xbox 360 uses similar architecture to the x1 and an emulator for that still hasn't come about not one worth even attempting yet.

so, the first release is costing much less than $50.

Say what?  To buy The Last of Us and the Left Behind DLC right now on PS3 would cost you $45.  The Last of Us Remastered on PS4 will launch at $50, which is less than any newly released AAA game, sure, it's only $10 off but it's also only a year old.  There are plenty of examples of games that don't lower prices that quickly.

Actually, the first release is still MSRP $40 and $30+ secondhand shipped ($20+ disc only). So not "much less than $50". Factor in the DLC via season pass and asking $50 for the game is the exactly correct cost at worst, and a great value at best.

I'll be buying it full price. I didn't get it on PS3. I developed a rule. Once the next system comes out. I know the great games, that where released on the dying console, will be ported in the future. And I waited. So now I don't mind buying it at full price. But of course if I did get the PS3 version, I wouldn't cared about the ps4 version. I only buy things once. Regardless of format, age, double-dipping, or enhancements. But that's just me. It will sell around 2 million. Popular game remakes/ports usually do that. Zelda OOT has been reissued how many times? And the 3DS port sold around that.

I don't get why people get butt hurt over these things. It's a option. It doesn't hurt you. it doesn't murder your child, nothing. It's there to give a company money. It's not gonna kill the quality of Uncharted 4. Just because it had ND work on it. These things exist because people do buy them. All 3 games that I've bought for my PS4, so far, are all ports (TR:DE, Injustice, and Lego Marvel). I didn't get any new games for it. Nothing interested me, as of now. Your anger should really go towards people. Not the company. They just provide a service that makes them more money. I don't care for Microsoft consoles for various reasons. Hardware failures, and my gaming PC for one. But I don't make these type of threads demanding people see XBOX is wrong.

They are not similar in any way. 360 uses PPC, Xbone uses x64.

And just to add, there is an emulator in the works: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenia_%28emulator%29
