Forums - Gaming Discussion - TLOU:R isn't worth it

The TLOU Remaster hate is getting so freaking pathetic, yeah I'm sure this is going to be the first step into games being remastered every year now, this has absolutely nothing to do with there being a new generation and all between these 365 days.

And the most pathetic part about all this, ND and Sony could have released a TLOU Goty Edition on PS3 for the same price this summer and literally nobody would have batted an eye, but since they are also polishing up the graphics and are releasing it on the PS4, this is of course pure and utter evil by money hungry Sony.

I figured we were due for another TLoU thread.

I look at my games collection. I bought Batman: Arkham City for the Xbox 360. Then, the Wii U got the game about a year later. I paid full price for that game, too. I thought the extra features were worth it. No harm, no foul.

When the Xbox 360 released, a TON of games that were on the original Xbox/PS2 got the HD treatment. Tomb Raider Legend being the one that I thought was worthy of purchase. I didn't regret the buy one bit.

I bought Tomb Raider for the Xbox 360 on day one, last year. This year, it was the game that made me purchase a PS4. Again, no big deal despite the fact that many on the internet called it "Tomb Raider: Fraud Edition". https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=tomb%20raider%20fraud%20edition

I say that to say this: TLoU on PS4. You can buy it or you can leave it. The fact that the game is getting a re-release shouldn't be such a big deal. It's nothing that hasn't been done before.

Besides, I was the guy that made this: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=72470

Me.

Though i already have a PS4.

But have you bought it on PS3 or would you buy it in PS4 if it wasn't 60 fps (consider in this case that the PS3 version never existed)?

I think that the game runs @60FPS is worth it for a lot of people (PC Gamers mostly).

It won't release on PC, not sure how much of the people having PC as primary gaming machine will buy a PS4 and TLOU on it.. I even saw someone saying that he won't buy a PS4 for its game he will just use an emulator and pirate games... I seriously don't have a clue of how long it will take to emulate PS4 and what will be the machine requirements (probably will be a lot less stepper than on PS3 release time with exquisite hw choice).

Well some people that I know won't play games under 60FPS.

Those people shouldn't buy consoles because they will have several restrains on the amount of good games they will be able to choose.

I prefer to think of it as being "Part of the problem".  :)

And you have saw the TLOU remastered to see how much it improved? All textures, frame rate and resolution, besides possible enhancements that we haven't heard of.

Hahahahahaha now we just have to figure which problems... because the industry have several of them... I wouldn't buy re-releases and most of the HD collections for full price (probably most of the games originating the re-release I haven't paid full price) because I'm a cheap skate =]

Let's forger GTA and TR for a moment. How come nobody is bitching about porting Metro 2033 or Payday 2?

And as was already mentioned, there were dozens of GOTY versions last-gen, usually within a year of release, and most people were actually happy about it.

Only because of all these TLOUR haters, I so wish that the game sells two million copies. I know it won't, but it sure would be fun to read the forums...

I think the reason behind all hate, which is unjustified indeed, is because this is a 1st party game with the name "remastered" in it. Had it been a 3rd party release, noone would react. I do think a game needs to be a few years older to justify the term "remastered", but those are just small details. I am quite sure this hate won't affect the sales one bit, just buy the game and enjoy it :).

It isn't worth it. Tomb Raider wasn't worth $60 and GTA V won't be worth that much either. I'd only pay $20 for any of those games.
