Forums - Gaming Discussion - TLOU:R isn't worth it

Let's forger GTA and TR for a moment. How come nobody is bitching about porting Metro 2033 or Payday 2?

And as was already mentioned, there were dozens of GOTY versions last-gen, usually within a year of release, and most people were actually happy about it.

Only because of all these TLOUR haters, I so wish that the game sells two million copies. I know it won't, but it sure would be fun to read the forums...

Well because apparentely nobody cares because they weren't acclaimed games and are flying under the radar.

It isn't worth it. Tomb Raider wasn't worth $60 and GTA V won't be worth that much either. I'd only pay $20 for any of those games.

For you it isn't worth the asking price (for me as well), but the posture of the article is that the game itself isn't worth and that Sony is just robbing everybody, while others when doing it is acceptable.

It's going to sell a lot: people that migrated to PS4 from 360-Wii and people that like games at 1080p 60 fps, but I still think that remastering the game so early is bad. Bad because it allows them to not lower the price of the game of both versions in a year or two, and because the lack of backwards compatibility makes this remake necessary, even when the game is barely one year old.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Metro 2033 was never on the PS3 and is being remade using Last Light's graphics engine.  Plus you're also getting Last Light.

I think the reason behind all hate, which is unjustified indeed, is because this is a 1st party game with the name "remastered" in it. Had it been a 3rd party release, noone would react. I do think a game needs to be a few years older to justify the term "remastered", but those are just small details. I am quite sure this hate won't affect the sales one bit, just buy the game and enjoy it :).

Anything that works the original master to a different media or retouch the quality is a remaster since it reddo the master... actually all ports are remasters in a way even if they keep everything equal.

Hey, don't be so pessimistic.

2mil is very possible in my opinion maybe even more, Sony is going to push this, maybe even bundle it around the holidays or something. I think it has become very apparent that Sony wants to make TLOU into one of their carrying franchises this gen, I'm personally expecting to at least get up to TLOU 3 on PS4 (though I personally would have been happy if it stayed at one) and I'm almost hundred percent sure that the secret project that is in planning stages at ND right now is TLOU 2.

I don't think it will hold the price up for both versions... I actually think it won't have much impact on PS3 version besides dropping the price quickly since there will be more light on PS4 version and probably will drop faster on PS4 than a new IP since it is closer to a GOTY edition (TR have dropped faster than other good IPs in 8th gen), besides it already starts for 10 less.

Make it a Open world TLOU MMO and there will be one very happy user in VGC (and it isn't me)... how much would you love to have teenager Ellie hunting out the fireflies?

All the negative buzzers are starting to depress me. Depresses because it's a very sad attempt at hurting TLOU but in the end they can't even make a scratch but a little more advertising for the game.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

Well, if Nintendo has shown us anything it's that you can keep the prices of your games high for years if you just have the right demand, no remasters or anything needed for that (fun fact: Mario Kart Wii is more expensive than TLOU PS3 on Amazon.com right now)
