I thought this story was posted a few days ago. Did they lose the appeal as well??

These patents are so fucking vague.  The first patent sounds more like Kinect or Sony's Move with camera than Wiimote.  The Wiimote doesn't use a camera. 

It does, the camera is in the WiiMote itself!

Gyro in my opinion is the one who is at fault in this case Not Nintendo, because it was Gyration pitched this wiimote concept to Nintendo in 2001! Sony's and Microsofts usage of motion controls differs from Nintendo's so it would be hard for philips to sue Microsoft or Sony. 

As for them sueing Nintendo, if i was Nintendo i would have a real talk with Gyration..lol

there should be a law on how many times a company can be sued over the same thing..

this is ridiculous.

Not really, most of the time the fact that this was not an infringement that was knownly done means if anything Nintendo will get a lesser fine and as a matter of fact just work out a deal. The company putting out an injunction would be more inclined to keep the device out on the market to gather income from the continued use of the patent than to stop its sale. But if this infringement is found to stay valid than Nintendo would most likely work out a deal anyway. just look at the apple and samsung case as a prime example.

while i 100% Agree, there is laws inside to protect companies and persons in this caase also for instance if this infringement was done before hand and Nintendo still did it and can be shown that in court the fine can be as much as three times the amount!

So even though there is faults in the system of law there is protections to boot. Most likely a deal will go through and it will be done with soon enough , which i doubt very much it will or would be a real heavy fine against Nintendo, but with as many platforms that Nintendo has with this technology inside of it it could well be in the upper Millions, i doubt if it would be in the billions like the case with Apple vs Samsung, but you never know.

OT: Nintendo can always appeal. It's funny that Philips waited this long to file a lawsuit though.

Oh, Please. At the very worst Nintendo can drop the wii mote and sensor from the Wii u. They hardly use it anyway. This is what this case is about.

It being the UK is probably why Nintendo use the CAB as lawyers.

BTW it has been confirmed Nintendo will appeal.

twenty years from now this could still be going on.
