Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony's PSNow Pricings Are Crazy

These prices need to be fixed. You could buy most PS3 games for $30 why would anybody rent at that price

Most of those last gen games will be significantly cheaper than their 90 day rental price. PS Now pricing makes no sense. This is even worse than Xbox One DRM, what sense does it make paying those prices if you dont get to own the game?

they will lower prices soon

I also hear that their major lagging issues on big games like Desu Ex. I think its still too early to have a Netflix like gaming server. It fail with Onlive and I'm sure this will barely last a year, even though Nintendo need to make that money back on what they spent on Gaikai. 308 Million dollars.

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

Here a little quote I want for those to keep memorize in your head for this coming next gen.

This entire thing is a horrible idea just like onlive, Xbox cloud physics, etc. Not everyone has great internet, and at best it's still worse than a local zero compression console.

I agree. Those prices are terrible. They are bad for the US and we here in NZ will likely see a reasonable hike in prices when it is changed into NZ dollars. Hope they get this right soon because at this stage, renting any game is most definitely NOT worth it.

Found this gem in page 4 of the forums.....guess Sony doing wrong to its fans HAS to be swept under the rug asap.

The service in concept is great, but those prices are just plain taking advantage of being 1st place.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Should be cheaper as renting physical discs. Some in this thread said it's not more expensive as renting but there is a huge difference. When you rent a game the rental service gives you the disc and they can get only money from one person per disc. That's not a problem in this case so that Sony could calculate with much lower prices as rental services can. If a rental service could give one disc to more than one person at once, their prices would be also lower.

I didn't expect much lower prices for a week but one week should be only 5 bucks, the 4 hours option should be a one day option and also cheaper and the 90 days option for 30 bucks sounds to me more like a price they should take for the purchase of the whole game. The 30 days option sounds ok to me.

I was just going to point that out. I thought PS now was a subscription thing like netflix?

It was never stated that PS Now would be an "all you can eat" subscription service like Netflix. Some people just assumed it.
