Forums - Nintendo - What does Nintendo need to do to win next gen?

-Listen, listen, work closely with, then LISTEN to 3rd parties

- compete for ALL audiences.

- 0 sacrifices, meaning, provide the power that will be in the same range as your competition, to avoid "inferior version" negative press. There are already strengths each company has against each other, but the power issue can be remedied.

-Allow internet freedom to be up to the game developers. If there is a mature game, let there be game chat, etc. For YOUR Ninty games, go ahead and continue your family friendly policies but do not impose that for every game. Let parents be parents, Nintendo, you are not the world's guardian.

Its time for Ninty to act like this is THEIR industry, by offering the TOP GAMES QUALITY (gameplay AND graphical fidelity) again. If Nintendo will continue not competing at the highest level for the 3rd gen in a row, they have to aim even lower (i.e. 2 gens behind), since the mobile market has undercut their business. Clearly, this middle ground approach is not cutting it.

release earlier than comp
-have no gimmicks

A Pokemon MMO! It would be Game Over for Sony/MS!

An innovative console as powerful as ps5 and the next xbox and buying some third party studios

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

The key is 3rd party, something Nintendo really needs to push.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Competitive Hardware without tablet-gimmicks, at least 1 good game per month (1st or 3rd party), develop games for everyone including adults - not just games for small kids, strong 3rd Party support by buying shares of Capcom, EA, Activision, Bethesda, Rockstar, Square Enix and Sony.

Stop making hardware a gen behind the competition. Imagine a PS4 level of power device with all third party games and Nintendo exclusives. They would be selling circles around Sony and Micro.

Thanks jlmurph!

All Ninty had to do, was offer XB1 level power with a pro controller for the same $350, then sold gamepadS (plural) separately.  Ninty would be at 10 mil easily right now and would have taken at minimum a mil off of PS4 and XB1 sales (not all those buyers are "hardcore" MSony fans, just ppl that want the best 3rd party console experience). Ninty needs to stop ignoring 3rd party and get over their gamecube failure.

Competitive hardware, a name that doesn't suck, reasonable price, standard online features with good parental control, 1080p60 Zelda or Mario at launch, improved third party support.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Indeed, such a system would be enough for most gamers.
