Forums - Microsoft - Xbox Japan's Tweet From Last Week Seems Pretty Embarrassing

Won't matter this game will flop in japan no matter what system it is on

Nah, it's just something you can't hype up in your typical bait threads so you'll continue to downplay it.

It will do alright for Japan standards. Bungie has a nice following over there thanks to Halo games. :) Plus Japan is buying more shooters every year. Hell CoD sells over half a million which is way more than most JRPG's over there.

The highest selling Halo is 130k from Halo 3. Also, Destiny is not COD and you know it.

A little embarrassing for Microsoft. Find it hard to believe Microsoft weren't aware of this as recently as the 12th.

On one hand it looks like the Activision/Xbox relationship has broken down, but on the other their cash cow CoD is still getting the 'best on Xbox' treatment. Weird.

Heh, well...that's a bit of an error. Silly Twitter.

Also no need for off-topic accusations please guys.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I never said Destiny is CoD. I said Japan is buying more shooters today then it did before. Halo 3 in 2007 sold 130K. That's 130k on a failed console in Japan. Meanwhile shooters like CoD and Battlefield do a lot more then the purposed 50-100k that another poster claimed.

Isn't X1 regionfree? So those wanting the game could still import it?

That's what I was thinking also.

Eh, doesn't come close to the Final Fantasy Type-0 on Vita debacle.

It's pretty close...

Your just saying that cuz its only for PS!

Also it wont flop, unless you think 50k+ is a flop for japan for this type of game? It really can do 100k+ imo.

OT: Not really MS fault as they probably didn't even kno :-/

even 100k+ is a flop... considering this game will likely sell 4 million first week in the good ol' USA

You have to think about the market though. The U.S. is a much larger market and one that is a lot more welcoming to FPS.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

It´s a "always online game", Bungie/Activision could IP lock the XOne version on Japan.

Any way I think the ones who should be embarrassed are Bungie/Activision. This is the kind of stuff that used to get gamers really pissed off...
