It's a hard call, on here it shows up on the preorder charts, where it's only going to climb higher and even on Gamestop and Amazon it's not at rock bottom. I think it will do decently in Japan, will bomb in Europe and in NA will do just ok. Lifetime: Being generous and optimistic 1 million, more realistic 500k-700k

I was not going to get it because I am a conservative and I think a game about a witch who kills angels with the help of demons is not my thing.
But the free game convinced me to buy Bayonetta 2.

i don't find 600k hard to believe. The only mature third party game to sell far over a million was Resident Evil 4 and is a highly praised game sold cheap. Red Steel barely sold a million and it was launch title. Now with the Wii U, you have a much smaller installed base, a system that sells third party titles poorly, mature games are the worst sold titles overall on Nintendo consoles, and Bayonetta sold poorly. How many reasons do you need? If it sells good than great but I hardly see any reason to dispute the projected sales. They are logical.

I think the potential thing you're missing here, though, is that it's exclusive but isn't a new IP from a 3rd party.  That isn't to say this WILL sell over 1m, but it's not as ridiculous as you would think.

I think it will do around 700k at most. I hope I'm wrong but I came to that conclusion because of the numbers according to VGchartz of ZombiU (680k) and even Pikmin3 (770k). I'm having a hard time believing that Pikmin is only sitting at 770K (I know that exclude digital but still...) and imo there is no way in hell that Bayonetta will do better than Pikmin3.

I hope I'm wrong, atleast they have one copy already sold (to me hehe)!

The first game only had attention because the PS3 port was sooooooooooooo bad. It had nothing to do with the game being good.

It also did not sell gangbusters.


The only people talking about this are Nintendo fans. I would be shocked if a PS3 or 360 owner was dying for a 2nd round. Defo when you think of the PS3 userbase.
