Forums - Nintendo - People are underestimating the sales potential of Bayonetta 2 (plus predictions)

Firstly, people say that the fanbase for Bayonetta 2 is on PS3/360 so it wont sell at all on Wii U. That's a bit silly because implying that each gamer only gets one console each gen is pretty silly. Plus, people who havent played it before can clearly become interested. Which leads me to the second point.

Secondy, the biggest barrier of entry to the game was the fact that people might not have played the first one. Now, it's been revealed that the first game will be bundled at no extra cost. So you can play the whole series from the start, AND you get two games for the price of one.

I see people saying it will sell 600K LIFETIME and that just sounds insane.

I guess this can be a prediction thread as well, and I do predict it could pass 1 mil in lifetime sales, though It's probably too niche to get to anything like, 2.5mil to 3 mil.

Confirmed... 500,000-600,000 is a stupid prediction.
I think 1,200,000 lifetime.

150,000 first week in USA (170,000 NA)

120,000 fist week Japan

70,000 first week Europe

Total:

350,000-400,000

In addition, I notice all that the first Bayonetta for PS3 had have 33,000 before comin in USA... And they have sold 1,130,000 lifetime...

So, for you Bayonetta 2 will sold lifetime ONLY 500,000!?

Please...

I agree.

800k first week
2m lifetime

500k lifetime and I'm being optimistic. W101 barely hit 200k.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

If it's advertised I can see lifetime sales of around 1.2m

It is hard to know, all I can say is that I would have absolutely zero interest in Bayonetta but for the fact it was a Wii U exclusive and I already had a Wii U. I still wasn't that interested but what I saw at E3 (digital event and Treehouse) looked good, and the fact it comes with the first game as well makes it quite likely I might buy it. I think the dedicated fan base will get it even though it's moved to Nintendo, and a lot of people who wouldn't otherwise will get it because it's on the Wii U and not much else is. But whether that will translate into big numbers I don't know.

The fact that they're bundling the first one proves the opposite. They got Bayo 2 because they wanted Bayo fans. If they thought they'd get them, there would be no need to bundle in the first game. They'd just sell it separately.

I see it selling 600K lifetime. I'm being generous.

Oh come on!!

1) W101 will sold 300,000-400,000 lifetime

2) TW101 coming in USA with 15,000! Bayonetta 2 have 31,000 pre order, and the game coming between 4 month!

I think like 800k.

Bayonetta 2 is NOT Tw101. Aside from being made by Platinum, name the similarities.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
