It is definitely going to be up there among the best ever, PC included. High end PC still has the advantage of higher resolution and fps. Kind of crazy, knowing that the PS4 is " just a mid-range PC ", at least that is what PC enthusiastic keep saying.

I love how many people got defensive without really providing any example of better in-engine graphics ^^

Just be aware that cut-scenes rendered using the engine are ALWAYS going to look better than actual gameplay.

There is far less to be rendered in a cut-scene, so the textures can be upped quite a bit.

I'm aware of that. Uncharted 2 & 3 used the same technique for cut-scenes and they looked better than the gameplay but it was not a huge difference.

Cut-scene :

Gameplay :

Precisely. ND has shown that they can get the in game models to look 90%+ as good as the cutscene model. Anybody referring to that Chloe image to say "this was a huge downgrade" needs on of these, as they are clearly cherry-picking:

E3 on the left, final build on the right. Not so much of a "huge downgrade" now, is it?

This is irrelevant. What you aren't understanding is the fact that it isn't the character models that won't look like that in the final build, its the animation and probably lighting. You will see the animation in cutscenes possibly, but cutscenes aren't gameplay. Also, you can't capture animation in screenshots. To believe that the entire U4 game will be rendered at the same quality as the video of Drake's face up close, is quite silly. In regards to those screenshots you posted, when you want to post comparison shots then make sure they are native esolution not scaled down shots to make everything look like its rendered in supersampling.

Thread title and poll question confused me...and I wrongly chose "Yes" after reading only the thread title.
That said, I am pretty sure when Uncharted 4 releases it will be the best looking game of all time. I even doubt that a game in 2016 will match the visuals of U4. But we will see when more footage will be released in the future. Hopefully at the Gamescom.

Probably. People saying Skyrim with mods are just out of their mind, Skyrim isn't a good looking game and loses to even the 2007 Crysis. Witcher 2 doesn't look nowhere as good as this trailer, so we will have to expect the W3 and see what happens.

People should actually expect console games to deliver graphics that won't be seen on PC with their exclusives until at least 2016. The PS4 and X1 GPUs are decently beefy while more powerful PC GPUs are usually using more than one GPU, like Titan, a configuration that isn't efficient. DirectX is another problem because a high-end PC does several times less draw calls because of the bad middleware. Actually, most PC and PS4 games from today don't look as good as UC3 (of course, Crysis games and Watchers looks better, as an example). High end AAA games usually look better than almost everything available on any platform.

Very misleading stuff you have said here. Especially saying that PS4/X1 Gpus are beefy. This alone is one of the most misinformed statements I've seen anyone say so far. Both gpus are extremely weak, the ps4 uses a modified Radeon 7870 gpu. That definitely isn't beefy. With respect to DX, AMD has Mantle. M$ has DX12 both which are the same as low level apis found in consoles.

Your perception of what you feel looks good is limited in spectrum. Due to the fact that what makes a game good graphically is quite broad. You can't expect a mmorpg to look like Crysis 3 since the game is generally pushing around many many more npcs than what you will find in a fps. Gw2 is praised for its graphics initially but technically speaking the character models aren't even better than U2. But the standards and requirements are different since the genre is different.

Nobody said the whole game would be rendered that way. That a whole game would be rendered in the same quality as the cutscenes?! What I'm saying is that, during gameplay, it will look close to the cutscenes, basing this on NDs prior work regarding cutscenes vs gameplay. Have you never seen an Uncharted game in motion? Not that I recall people talking about animation and lighting, but specifically, how good the graphics on the Drake character model was in the UC4 trailer, but anyway....

Here, tell me this (ignore commentary):

isn't visually close to this cutscene, which happens immediately before:

If you're arguing that a cutscene is going to have more activity and motions (animation) than what's limited to an 8 button controller map, then you're missing the point. The lighting was the same, btw. Anyway, I'm not gonna post 12 1920x1080 pictures on this forum. You can clearly see the difference in the comparison (which I got from PS Community forums, I didn't put them together myself), and if you're so inclined, you can look them up yourself. You'll still see that there wasn't a "huge downgrade"

If you're talking about art-style, face model and animation on a cut-scene for consoles, then yes, UC4 is the best looking right now.

Speaking of a technical achievement and including PCs too, then no, not even close.

The power of Uncharted 4 lol XD.  But still most of the time I will be lurking unless I feel the need to talk about like with those coments and UC4.  Maybe with GOW4 lol.

Bro after the challenge I got from GOW: A I am READY for a new GOW. As long as the difficulty is like Ascension I am in!

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

All the people saying Pc Pc have yet to show me gameplay, a trailer, or something running on a PC that looks as impressive as the UC4 teaser. Why is that.

After watching the color corrected of the Uncharted 4 trailer I must say what Naughty Dog has done with next gen hardware is mindblowing, especially for 1080p 60fps, here's the video just in case you haven't seen it.

And to all you doubters who believe it's CGI or not in real time, well here are some sources for that as well.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/di...f-us-at-60-fps

"We've studied the video in a little more depth and have concluded that it's definitely running at native 1080p resolution (as opposed to being rendered at a very high resolution, then scaled down - a process known as super-sampling). Small clipping anomalies, a touch of specular aliasing on Nate's shirt as he sits up, along with some shadow aliasing on his forehead also suggest a real-time render. On the face of it, we're still looking at some pretty incredible anti-aliasing here for a real-time technique on

a game running at 60fps, particularly when it comes to the perfect, artefact-free rendering of Nate's hair - but the combination of the low contrast setting, slow camera movement, motion blur and depth of field would work well generally in making aliasing much less of an issue."

And with that in mind, have you ever seen a game with the graphical fidelity of that trailer?

Of course they gonna say it was running on ps4 console like they said batman was running on ps4 which they were lying btw halo 5 or quantum beak gonna blow uncharted 4 away

Funny because you seem to have actually access to the internet as well.
