No one knows for sure if it's overtracked or spot on. Maybe we had the week before it undertracked by 10-20k.

It's likely VGC overtracked, they've done it for virtually every major Wii U release.

OT: That's decent I guess. I mean one game can only do so much. Mario Kart actually getting a substantial number of people to buy a WiiU is certainly commendable.

The fact that Nintendo won't give numbers by just the 4x increase leads me to believe the sales weren't quite as hot as some had hoped and perhaps as protrayed on VGC. They gave a number for Mario Kart 8's software sales, and know the Wii U hardware number but they opted to not share it.
