In fact it did. Games wise, it was the better conference of 2013.

I think Sony set a good bar. If Nintendo's going to beat it they'll have to have a really good show and I'd be weirdly proud of them if they accomplish that. Don't downplay the successes of your competitors, it can only sour people on the Nintendo brand you seek to advocate.
I think Nintendo has to work for it and it's a good thing they do.

Can you name me 25 third party titles that will make it worthwhile for me to purchase a ps4 or xbone?
I'm not sure why I should drop $400-500 on a console to play games that will be available on my pc. I honestly don't understand why anyone would. For me, it really boils down to first party exclusives, and I have yet to see anything all that exciting.
I wouldn't say the bar is set low. Both had solid to good E3s. Nintendo has to have a great E3 to clearly beat them. The bar is certainly within reach, especially with Zelda U coming, but it's not low. Also, I'm doubtful that Retro will show Metroid, though I think a 3DS Metroid might be shown. If your definition of Nintendo winning depends on Metroid Wii U, I think you'll be disappointed.

Most of gamers have a PC, and PC versions are made to be playable on low spec rigs, so they have a broader audience. Therefore i agree with his point. Second to that we are discussing show appeal, not the bigger library. Destiny and MGS5 do little in that regard, being a multiplataform, even if not on Wii U. Also Uncharted was just a teaser with no gameplay, MGS5 almost that. Sony big guns were definitely Bloodborne and LBP3. Since Bloodborne is a new IP from which we saw very little, i do think Nintendo line-up can easily steal the show, if they don't f*** things up. |
you forgot Let it Die from Suda 51 (as did I until now with all the announcements)

Goes both ways. Practically 100% of games shown tomorrow at Nintendo's events will be 100% exclusive.
Nintendo has a lot riding on this E3, I am positive they will bring everything possible to build momentum for the Wii U again. The bar was not set low, both MS and Sony did a great job, but Nintendo has the last chance to truly shock and awe us with some game reveals. Let's hope for the best.

A huge number of blockbuster games were shown off today, branching across so many of the relevant properties that are currently on the market, as well as quite a few new IPs, all from highly reputable developers. And people are let down by this?! You are all going to live a life of sadness. |
I know right? I was genuinely impressed with MS's showing and that takes a lot and Ubisoft's Crew trailer was fantastic (haven't been this excited for a racing game since Burnout 3). Then I was at the Playstation experience in theaters and BOY was that fun. Lots of cheering and smiles in the room when LBP3 popped up and when Batman was shown jaws were dropping including my own. Lots of cheering all around actually. Bloodborne and Destiny bundle got some big cheers as well as Uncharted and GTA5 of course
There was not any big surprises and most people seemed to be underwhelmed by e3 this year due to mostly "rehashed games" being available on this gen's consoles, lack of exclusives, and nothing really big for this year other than perhaps sunset and LBP. I think Smash tourney will be the highlight of e3, we shall see.
