Agreed.

If the media hadn't brainwashed the millions of people who buy Wii/U games into thinking they are good, their praise would have been quite limited indeed.

To me, the best Nintendo console ever made is the Gamecube. Followed very closely by the SNES.

As for best console ever... The Wii U isn't close to that. It's good. But not nearly as good as the PS4 or XBO. It lags behind way too much when it comes to features and online infrastructures. The gamepad still hasn,t proven itself to be game changing. It has some nice use like remote play, but when it comes to being useful in games, not quite convincing yet.

Again you can only say what your favourite console is, not what the best console is of all time, for starters not everyone has played every single console there is to have this opinion, so how you gonna say this certain console is the best, you can say its the best console you've played out of the consoles you've played, it's personal opionion, a lot of people say the PS2 was, I didn't like the PS2 that much so in my opinion it's not, doesn't mean it isn't to somebody else, same goes for any console.

But Wii U can play all Wii games because it's backwards compatible.

I'm guessing that by the end of the gen I might like the Wii U more than the Wii and N64 but I can't see the Wii U bringing out PS2 or SNES style content by that time.

Yes,I do. I really disliked the controller and the graphics were butt ugly (yes, even back then) coming off the SNES.  The biggest thing though was seeing third party support die for Nintendo. If you're an RPG nut like me to see Final Fantasy jump ship in those days was huge and the N64 offered next to nothing in that regard.

I could not wait for the Dreamcast, Gamecube, PS2, Xbox to come out after that generation.
