I didn't like PS Home, but it's been very profitable for Sony, people like virtual items apparently, so you'll see it come to PS4 before long.

home was a curiously interesting idea that should have been killed off years ago.
So many people in here have no clue what they are talking about.
Before you spit out completely false information, why don't you spend an hour in Home. The service is free, and your are going to find a lot more to do than what you think. Sony is making a ton of money for this, and it does have an active user base.
To cut Home now, and never give it a chance on PS4 would be a terrible business move. Home on PS4 could generate much more money due to the capabilities of the system. It has a large user base, and I am sure they are expecting to move onto PS4 at some point just like many of use will due to AAA games.
Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

Yes, even a bunch of tricks would be good enough, like game loading from home in the background, home-like waiting room easy to create for games. I think also graphically speaking Home was too ambitious, the point is to be able to have an OS like light background application that can show anytime. I don't understand why they create such a rich 3D, I would have prefered a wow like graphics with an excellent integration. |
Home's graphics are pretty weak. The only thing spiffy I found is the lighting which shouldn't affect loading or anything. Thinking about it some more, I think Sony needs to take the Home idea and integrate it the same way Nintendo does with Miis and the way Microsoft does with Avatars. That way you can load your Home person into each game. This will also allow devs to put Home rooms into their games in place of lobbies.
I dont think they will shut the server down because some people spent a lot of money on home. I met people on home that spent up to 1000 on it. So I do think they will bring it to PS4. They are still updating home everyday. Everytime I log onto PSH I see new things and new challenges. They make a lot of profit from it so they wont shut it down. They probably going to kill the server for home on PS3 and just bring it to PS4.
They are still so many people on home, but not as much. Playstation Home used to have a lot of people back when I started to use it in 2009. I think if they work on it a little more for the PS4 it will become great and grow back to being a big online community like it used to be. They need to make it like the Sims. We should be able to have kids and a family on PSH. And our kids should be able to grow up and go to school. Make it like the sims and people would love it.

Go in, see people talking and join the conversation. I find the people who complain are those who just go in expecting to "play" when you're not supposed to. Though they added a bunch of mini games in more recently to try to appease those people. So if you go in expecting to play things, it probably isn't for you. If you go in treating it like a forum, then you'll be good. |
100%, this is a great take on playstation Home, exactly there is quite a few indie game's on playstation Home, there is well over 500+ games , but its main goal is to meet other playstation Gamers and talk, but instead of being text, your Avi is in 3D. and that you can interact with each other than just texting each other.
Your take is spot on
I mean there is games like this inside playstation Home
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rV1K0CSO0q0
and its multi-player with 8 player voice chat, hell other people could be playing another playstation Home game while you are playing no mans land and still talk to them on voice chat.
I AM BOLO
100% lover "nothing else matter's" after that...
ps:
Proud psOne/2/3/p owner. I survived Aplcalyps3 and all I got was this lousy Signature.
They recently just added trophies. They wouldnt have done that if they planned on closing it down.
I hope they stop wasting resources on it too, but I think its gonna stay and possibly come to PS4 as well.
to be honest I've only visited PS Home like 3 times in the month it was released on. I uninstalled it afterwards.
I spent some time wandering around in PS home a few times. It had lots of potential but nobody really knew much about it who I knew so it went mostly unused. If I remember correctly within home you can
1. play games for free including casino games and pirate cove etc
2. enter competitions
3. watch TV shows
4. play retro arcade game
5. build your own apartment and win items for it
6. chat with friends and dance inappropriately close to someones crotch.

I'm really surprised by claims that Home makes money. Whatever money Home is doing, it has to be compared with the cost of development which are sizeable. If you put 10 millions dollars on a project, a few hundred thousand dollars yearly as a profit is enough to allows updates, but not enough to be a success, and not enough for a PS4 version.
About money, and a lot of interesting things about Home, I could find The story of Playstation Home. It's said to be quite a source of profit for some independant developers, Sony is making profit (no data), but including dev cost it is at loss.
